Yeah the pins are good but they’ll get gunked up if left for too long, I flush mine with brake clean maybe once a month or so. Let me know your order number and I’ll ship you out another pin.

Ideally I want to design our own lock at some point, but for now these work good.

I was hoping it would take something like a portable grinder to break the locking pin. A 3 lb hammer is a little more available but I guess a determined thief will defeat most locks. The key inside my Hitch Vault only opens the door, then the thief has to find the hidden key that will start the truck.

Yeah I mean a better lock doesn’t currently exist, if there was something better we would be using it. These work good but at the end of the day if someone wants into something they can get into anything. I’m a journeyman welder and want to design a lock that would be hard for me get into

Remember locks help keep honest people, honest..

I appreciate that, but this is no fault of yours... and no need to send a new pin.

It was a case of needing in there right now.. and I forgot to take it off and clean it after my last offroad trip.

Awesome! I might get one of these for my 96 because I could keep a spare in there. I always seem to forget where my keys are. Unfortunately I have a virulent hatred for Canadians.

Maybe a rubber or silicone boot could slide over the end of the lock mechanism to help keep debris out when offroading. Hit it with some oil/brake cleaner then slide the boot on. It wouldn't keep everything out but I'm sure it would help alot for people that get their rigs dirty often

It comes with a little boot. I just did not take it off and spray it after a beach trip

Well why didn't you say so! If you ever find yourself out my way we can have two-three beers. Anyways I was wondering if the supergrip finish made it harder to install and remove from the hitch?

Sounds good! It’s about the same, they both slide in and out easily. The super grip isn’t really grippy it’s just textured not grippy like rubber.

New colour available! Only a few available. The rock guard ones are great as well and are heavily on sale until the Gen 2s are gone!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Which coating stands up better overtime? The Rock Guard coating or Cerakote?

Rock guard definitely, then powder coated should hold up even better. The rock guard is done the same way as powder coat but isn’t as hard of a coating, still plenty durable though.

The Gen 3 vaults are ready! They have 1/2” end caps and are raw tumbled aluminum so you can paint it however you want! I’ll get better pictures tomorrow.319DB865-AD98-455A-9C17-3526E64D4BC6.jpg
