Yes, have to agree, very nice set-up OP. I'm a float tuber, but I've got to respect. Very nice!

I see you have some Mudhole blanks. I've got a fly rod and spinning rod that I both love dearly. They make some good stuff.

I've gotten interested lately in putting together a fishing yak. Been looking at the Hobie PA14.

Old Town makes some nice one's too but they are just as expensive as the Hobie's.

One great thing I love about Hobie is most dealers have at least one boat of each model to test drive. I highly recommend this before pulling the trigger. I was dead set on a PA12 until I demoed a PA, Outback and Revo. After a few hours on the water it was between the Outback and Revo, the PA was completely off the table.

We have a local dealer here that I've been trying to find time to get to. I'd like to take a look at a few of them. Luckily they are a dealer for Hobie and Old Town. Kind of nice to have them in town since the whitewater course opened here.

Kayak fishing has really exploded in the past 5 years. When I started out in the late-90s there were only a few sit-on-top options, let alone peddle drive kayaks. Now almost every major manufacturer makes a peddle drive option catered to kayak fishermen. If I were shopping right now it would be a tough choice for sure. The Radar 135 looks like a great boat, similar to Natives but with a better rudder. For a bass/lake fisherman that's the boat I'd buy.

Local place is a dealer for them too. I'll check them out. Thanks!

You guys with these Outbacks, is the seat off center, specifically where rear seat kickstand? I had picked up a 2015 Outback, ordered another and was the same way. I emailed Hobie about it and never got a response. Ended up returning it, was really upset at the time with the slight imperfection for such a high end kayak. Regretted that decision, learned not to be so picky with slight imperfections. Still want an Outback though.

Mine is not perfect either, maybe off 1/4" on one side. I actually have screws drilled through my kickstands into the supports since I keep mine in the high position all the time anyway. I was getting tired of the kickstands flipping up whenever I leaned forward to do something.

You should not let a minor detail like that deter you from one of the best out there. Nobody makes a perfect boat.

Kayak fishing is slowly gaining in popularity in Alaska. People are getting the paddle kayaks to halibut and salmon fish. If only a decent paddle kayak wasn't $2,500.
