Finished both tanks this weekend but only got one painted and installed. Pressure tested up to 80 psi with no issues, but 30-40 psi is going to be the working pressure. On the top is a 1-1/2" threaded bushing with standard sewer plug which does leak slightly even with Vaseline. I'm trying to avoid plumbing dope if at all possible. If this doesn't work out in the long run I'm going to install a steel threaded nipple with a sealed threaded cap and be done with it. Also on top is a 1/4" threaded bushing with Schrader valve for pressurizing. At the back is a pretty standard hose bibb threaded into a 3/4" bushing. I coated the entire thing in PlastiDip and it turned out great. As far as function it works perfectly. Filled the tank with 7 gallons of water and pressurized to 40 psi. I had great pressure through about 1/4 tank then had to re-pressurize. After the second filling of air I basically made it through the remainder of the tank. The top tank is similar but has several modifications specific to my needs. I'll post pics of it later in the week.

Take the PA for a spin and try loading and unloading it before you buy one. It is a beast to handle by yourself. I had a PA14 and an outback. I just sold the PA to get another Outback. It is much more manageable when your going places that don't have easy truck/trailer access. If you will be launching from a trailer its probably not a big concern.

What's everyone doing for their seats in the outbacks? The little foam seats that came with mine just don't cut it. Been looking online at some different ideas for the metal framed seats. I really like the outbacks though!

My Outback is 7 years old. Gets used HARD as I live 75 yards from the Pacific ocean... the poor old seat is still hanging in... No more lumbar... straps all broke... But I still use it. I checked the price on a new Outback vantage seat...$549.00 is a tad rich for me. I paid $1799.99 back in 2010 for my Outback New at Valley Isle Marine . I did purchase a Hobie self inflating seat cushion for $50.00 that works great.

I have seen a video where some guy made one out of a turkey hunting seat for less than $100. Believe I read Jackson has a nice one that will work as well.

The Jackson seat mod is the way to go. The new Vantage seats will not work in the older Outbacks. I'm sure you could modify many types of other seats to work, but the Jackson seat is marine grade and should be a permanent solution.

The performance package upgrade which includes the sailing rudder and turbo fins was one of the last upgrades I did to my boat and should have been the first upgrade. I convinced myself that I would try the factory equipment out and decide later if I needed it, which I did, but after having the performance package for one outing I realized like everyone else it should be factory equipment. I believe the new Outbacks come standard with turbo fins now, but they still require you to buy the bigger rudder for some stupid reason.

I bought the turbos the day I picked up my revo. I never used the standard fins. Ive used the standard rudder for the past four years and have always found it lacking a little off shore and in big chop. Cant wait to get this big ass rudder in some rough stuff.

Here is a pic of my homemade screen for the hatch opening. Still need to clean it up a bit, but you get the idea. The sides and top are secured with Velcro and the bottom magnets.

I would imagine those are getting cheaper right now with the 180s being introduced. Personally I don't think I'll ever buy the 180s.

You would think. But right now they are still $600+ new never used, 500ish used. There's been times I wish I had a reverse, especially when current or a fish is beating the front of my boat against an oyster incrusted bridge pylon. But o figure I can do a lot of reverse paddling before spending $850+.
