I upgraded my cap vent fan with a V2.0. This is the way to go, but I'm going to keep my other fan as it is a little quieter and when I really want to move some air I can run both. Together they draw about 2.0 amps. Link to more pictures: Cap Vent Fan

Got around to putting in an A/C outlet in the center console and decided to add in some other goodies. I didn't really need the extra 12V, but it can't hurt. I also went ahead and did the 400w anytime mod and now I'm thinking about installing a RFID lock for the center console that will keep the contents semi-secure. I'll either open it with a keychain fob or possibly a bracelet. More to come on that later.

Everything working as it should. The switch turns the entire panel on/off.

I've been meaning to share some pictures of my camping setup, and I actually remembered to take a few this past weekend. I went to Washington, NC and fished the Pamlico sound for a couple days. Caught lots of flounder and specs, with a few redfish mixed in.

All loaded up. I throw my kayak on top if I'm planning to crash when I get to my destination, that way I can leave my cot setup in the back and just go to sleep immediately. Otherwise the kayak typically just rides in the bed.

Here we are at camp. I've got the awning out, solar panel setup, and my hammock for relaxing during the day. I also use my clip-on 12V fan for a little breeze under the awning.

I've used my tirfor winch a few times now but never took pictures or commented on it. Since it's been a while for any kind of update I thought I would mention it now. I had about a dozen trees close to my house that I wanted to fell, several of which were within five feet. The homeowners before us clearly did not think twice about one of these falling on the house, but I'm not one to take chances. Earlier last year a tornado came through our driveway and it took several days of chainsawing just to get back out to the road.

Here is the setup on a maybe 12" pine tree. My screened in porch is about five feet away towards the right. I used a pulling strap as high on the tree as I could reach and attached that to the wire cable.

This was a directional pull so the winch is not in-line with the tree coming down. A tree strap would have been nice here, but I used what I had which was chain.

The winch itself is not made by ARB, but this particular kit is marketed as such. As you can see I had plenty more cable, I think 60' in total. The total kit runs about $450 not including shackles, straps, or the chain. An electric winch would be much faster and easier of course, but I don't want one hanging off my truck all the time. This whole things fits in a plastic toolbox that I leave at home 99% of the time. It will pull 5300 lbs and lift 3500 which is more than adequate.

    Worked awesome as always.

Has anyone seen/have the new Yakima fish pole holders? Very interested in them but they’re so much $$$$$. Wondering if it’s worth it!

Definitely cheaper options out there, I just throw mine in the truck. If you really want to mount them exterior look around on craigslist or marketplace for a used ski rack. I have one sitting in my shed I'm not using in fact, exact same one they are marketing for fishing rod holders.
