Ive only had it for a year. Im the second owner.

Previous owner had it rust proofed every single year since new. Frame was actually in great condition, it was just that ONE spot that had a rust hole. The rest of the frame was golden. My friend told me that he overheard the other mechanics at the dealership complaining about how dumb it was that they were doing a frame swap on a frame that looked as good as mine :D

Even funnier, I didnt have them replace the starter like they were going to. My friend tightened my battery terminals cause they were loose, and I havent had any starting issues since..

What that tells me is they misdiagnosed a problem and were about to charge me $600 to 'fix' a starter that had nothing wrong with it

Sad part is, I was really nice and understanding up until I got my truck back in completely un-drive-able condition. At that point I started to get a little pissed off...
As far as I can tell, I have new bump stops, LCAs, brake lines, and ABS wires. I havent completely checked out the new suspension yet though so there may be more

What that tells me is those techs are fucking monkeys and they probably fucked up your ebrake cable and tie rods out of sheer incompetence. They should have been fired and you not paid a dime. So that means their manager is a POS as well. You should state what dealerships so other TW members who read this can avoid them

You should have new fuel lines, leaf springs and pretty much every bit and bolt on the frame replaced also.

Hey I have a 2007 as well. No holes but definitely a lot of surface rust all over. Isn't this frame replacement up after 12 years from the date of first use?? That would be this year for me :(

Yeah its a year after the recall date or 12 years after year vehicle was made. I caught mine just in the nick of time I guess..

Definitely dont have all new bolts. Some are new but definitely not all. I got leaf springs back in the spring under a different recall, I probably have new fuel lines but havent seen them yet cause I have done much work under the truck.

No fuckin idea how it costs $500 to replace an e-brake cable when youre already taking the old one apart..? They probably just really didnt want to do it or something

yeah those sound about right from what I remember, new LCA's is awesome! as much as a headache it all was, I would probably say it was worth it to be honest. I would have been surprised if they didn't find a way to squeeze a couple pennies out of you. not to often does a complete frame swap go without a hitch! I wouldn't sweat it, truck is practically brand new! now you can start shopping around for a nice 3'' lift

I was fortunate that we have a very good dealer where I live. Mine was done in 2 days. Did everything perfect.
