Just finished this little project to build a bed top for my 2011 taco 5 lug SR5. One of my Mastiffs is a little fearless and she scares the crap out of me when she's in the back of the truck; I think she's waiting for the perfect time to jump! So I needed to find a solution and designed this up in Google Sketch. I built it out of treated 2x4s and upholstered it with arctic vinyl.

Also, recently I installed a 2.5: AAL + shock in the rear and a 1.5" spacer in the front (fat bobs garage). Wheels are Rebel Racing 15x8 Alloy; tires are BFG AT 31x10 (got the set used for 80$ CAN!)

Since the pictures were snapped, I've tightened up the cargo netting to make it more taut. Hope you like!

    LOVE THE DOGS!! stunning animals!

the net enclosure?..not loving it so much. you couldnt run one of those leash things that are perfectly cut to length to allow movement, but no jumping out?

Hi thanks! I used the tie down racks and used an all-weather treated nylon rope - two square knots and two figure eights on each tie down. It is very secure :)

I looked at some of those but since there's two of them, I wouldn't want them to get tangled up. Also, I kind of like the look of the cargo net, and in the winter I can switch the netting for a tight tarp with tie downs.

Very Nice! I may do that for my Akitas! They always seem like they want to jump out too

i like it looks cool.. good thing about it is that the dogs cant fly out or jump out.. my siberian husky moves way to much in the back and barks gets excited so i got him a kennel extra large size (used it when we stayed at my sis apartment too) but before that i strung a cable across from one bed cleat to the other side cleat... then i incerted a clip thing like the end of the leash has.. so when ever he rides in the back he jumps up and i just clip him to it.. he can run side to side but not back and fourth or up.. as for tangles i just add a cable clamp in the center of the two dogs and they cant cross eachother

You could, but it's very dangerous for the dogs.

1)my dog chewed on the leash and broke free a total of three times on the way to the vet(just a check up)... did i mention its a 10 min ride..

2)leash.. if tied to a cleat or something can be long enough to wear they can still jump out and hurt themselves..

even my idea seemed to me kinda sketchy because he is an excited hyper dog when in the back.. thats why i got him a kennel

    That's what I plan on doing if/when I get a dog.
