I finally got around to programming my homelink mirror in my Tacoma.
When I was done I noticed you can use the mirror to open the garage even when the truck is off. At that point I would rather just have regular opener in my truck.

I went ahead and deleted my door code so if someone were to get into my truck they can't get in my house.

Is there a way to make it so it only works when the ignition is turned on?

    Thanks,

Doesn't your regular opener work that way also?
I don't think there is a way to make it work only when the ignition is on.

    Yes.
I don't keep an opener in my car for that reason.

That's a bummer. My gfs car has one that only works with the ignition on. Thanks for the reply!

Others smarter/more knowledgeable than me will chime in. I could be wrong.

I'm guessing the mirror is factory installed? If so you need to trace the power wire of the mirror and connect it to a switched power source such as your wipers or stereo. I have an 05 so I can't tell you what wire, maybe someone else can chime in

    Yes it's factory.

Good point I'll try tracing it.

I'm not sure where it goes, but the red wire on the plug is the constant hot.
