Hi I'm a new member to the forum with my first post. Just purchased 2019 Tacoma Sport 2 weeks ago. My truck has the auto dimming rearview mirror and I have purchased on Ebay a mirror with the Homelink option. My question is will this be a plug and play install or will I need to use the supplied wire harness with the new mirror and have to run the cable through headliner, pillar and kick panel?

That was the answer I was hoping for a 10 minute job versus who knows how long to route a new wiring harness. Thanks for the help.

Well tried to install the mirror tonight but the plugs are keyed differently. Any suggestions other than running the new wiring harness? The plug on the truck has a key in the plug where the new mirror does not have the key so the plug will not fit.

Problem is I purchased the Homelink mirror on Ebay with a no return so I'm $80 iin already. Hate the thoughts of digging around in the headliner of a 2 week old truck to run the new harness but if I to I have to.

Is it possible that the one you purchased from eBay is not for your truck? I got one for my 2017 and it was plug and play, no issue and works like a dream... If you have the correct one for a Toyota, I wonder if Toyota changed the harness due to the safety sense stuff... either way, could you not just buy the appropriate mirror and resale this one back on eBay?

    Good luck

There’s also the possibility that the mirror you bought is ‘not as advertised’ and you can exercise ebay’s return policy.

Mine ('18) was plug and play too. You may have purchased the wrong mirror.

Did some Goggle searching this morning and found this adapter plug. I'll check the factory mirror plug when I get home tonight to see if it's a 10 pin or 12 pin. Also attached is the Ebay post so I think it's the right mirror but possibly not.

Yeah must have made a change on the 2019. Factory auto dimming mirror has 12 pins the one I bought on Ebay only has 10 pins. So guess I'll buy the adapter stuff the excess into the roof console area. Lesson learned, thanks for all the responses.

Mine was plug and play, auto diming, compass. Got 3 garage door opener buttons, no issues. I think mine was 12 prong. Works perfectly fine. Got it from Bob for $150 used but looked new.

The one I got from Bob was plug and play but it wasn't the OEM one like I thought. The blue lights on the buttons did match the ones in the truck but you have to hold down the button whereas with homelink you only need to press and release and it communicates in two way to let you know the garage door/other homelink device has received the command. Other than that it works just fine.
