Well my old man is selling off his tacoma, cause of gas mileage + old age. He is looking at getting a honda accord coupe 4 cyl. Anyone have/heard any experiences of them?

    Much appriciated.

My uncle has a 08 V6 sedan that he got new. Great car but noisy inside.

What year? I had a '02 V6 Vtech and never had a single problem. Very nice little cars. My buddies girlfriend has a '08 and they both love it. He just sold his F150 and got a '02 4 cyl coupe and has nothin but praise for it.

Nice. If I were to go back to a car there's a good chance I'd go back to an Accord. Post some pics when he gets it!

My wife's car is a 2011 Accord sedan V6 EXL. Great car. Don't know how it compares to the 2 door or the 4 banger though. She is averaging 27 mpg's or more the last time we talked about it. Not bad for a 272 hp V6. It does have the cylinder shut down system on it. Not sure if he can get the Navi on the 4 cylinder? But it is amazing. We drove a 4 cylinder but wanted the 6, especially since we made the mistake of driving the 6 first. But we are happy with it.

A co-worker of mine drove one (sedan 4 cylinder) and she didn't buy it (got a Camry) as she said it was noisy inside also. I haven't noticed particularly but maybe because I've always driven trucks? But ours has the 17 inch wheels, and I'm sure that only makes it worse too.

I had a '04 F-150 for almost 5 years. Then I took a job that was a little over 1 hr. away that I had to drive 2-3 times per week. I sold the F-150 and bought an '06 Honda Accord coupe 4 cyl. The wife said that if I got a job closer to home that I could get rid of the car. I gladly quit that job so I could buy a Tacoma.

The Accord was not necessarily a bad vehicle. I just didn't like that I could buy something like a push mower and not haul it in the trunk. I had to squeeze it into the front passenger seat.

Having a truck is kind of like having 4x4. It is better to have it and not need it than to not have it and need it.

Will Do :D And my mother's car is a pilot, so there is tons of room of financing negotations since he paid it off a month earlier.

    It's a Honda.

The mileage is pretty good by today's standards, the thing will run until the end of time. They're super boring cars. Also, the new Accord has gotten plain fat, but most of America loves that.

Personally, I'd be looking at Ford these days if I were in the market for a new DD. I love what they're doing with the new Focus and Fiesta.

"Boring".....Maybe in the looks dept., but My Wife and I like the looks of them. The intorior has much more room, and as for handling, the EX line has strut tower braces, OEM, and it handles very well......for what it is.

My Uncle's 08 V6 EX with Navi hauls ass. I haven't tried to corner it since it is a fat pig. Again great car but the interior noise sucks. My Taco is quieter inside. The forums blame the stock tires and he did recently get new tires but I haven't been in it yet.

My mother has an 09 Sedan in the top trim level (whichever that is).

It's what she wanted (smooth riding reliable sedan), but I would never touch the thing. It's too big, and because of it the mileage suffers for a Jap 4cyl in the modern age (30 or so highway MPG, which isn't anything special any more in the days of 40+ MPG NA Hyundais and Fords). The driving experience is milquetoast, the front end a bit heavy in corners, which is no surprise.

But again, for my mother it's ideal. But then, we're shopping for different reasons.

If the OP's old man wants reliable transportation, it'll do him fine. Most folks are appliance shopping when they're looking at vehicles anyhoo.

The build quality of the interior has suffered since the last re-design...but then we can say the same about Toyota (sit in Toyotas from 10 years ago and the solidity of interior materials and construction is startlingly better than current models). Whatcha gonna do?

Good point. And I have no gauge as far as what "handles" on the street. I know it takes the corners going to the mall just fine. AND, Your comment about Ford is spot on! They are making some nice vehicles. My only issue, is their quality has, once again, dropped from what it was even for 2010, where as Honda has gon UP to the First (Acura), and second (Honda) places in the reliablility sampling I subscrice too.

No doubt - I don't think Honda's reliability will ever be in question.

For me, and again this is for me, that new Ford Focus ST would be worth being slightly less reliable than Honda. 250hp/250tq hatchback compact? Yes please.

Honda, please take note and turn the Civic Si into something that someone, anyone would give a shit about again.
