Redline custom leather shift and e-brake boot. VFTUNE Super Full Otto cycle, octane learning, premium fuel.
We have had 3 Honda Odyssey vans. The last two have had eco mode (cylinder deactivation) I recently found this product and installed on the 2016 Touring Elite. https://www.vcmtuner.com/products/vcmtuner-ii-honda-3-5l-i-vtec-disable-vcm-eco-mode

It shuts cylinder deactivation off. I figured there would other Dads on here with the Odyssey looking for the same thing.
It takes about 10 minutes to install. I have had it on our van for 5 months now. It works flawlessly. My wife says she can not tell the difference, I can.

Ok now it probably looks like I’m stalking you haha - glad I found this thread. That thing looks great. The cylinder deactivation was a hesitation of mine.

It works great. I traded the Odyssey in on a SR5 4runner today. Forgot to remove it for resale.

A couple of years ago I installed this on my 19 Odyssey. It'll be in another 3 years that when I do a tune up, I'll hopefully find the same condition on all six plugs so it's proof it worked. You want to hate the mfg's for doing this to our vehicles, though the blame needs to be pointed at our government.

The SVCM is the best VCM delete device out there. I have one on our 2009 Pilot and it's great. It requires no adjusting as the outdoor temps vary in the seasons the way some VCM delete devices do.

Old thread yes, I know. But good information is good information.

My mom owns the 2016 Odyssey and had this known problem - the repair was $5,000 out of pocket, her van was 1 month out of warranty and Honda would not do a good will repair. I get it, they don't have to. And my parents understood that as well. To my understanding the recall was done on known model years except 2016.

Now they are stuck - I think they should sell it private party and get what they can.

Will def be passing on this information, it's good info. Thanks for posting.

1st gen vcm work fine, 2nd gen with the front bank vcm is shit. Leaks heavy, ruins alternator and of course fouls plugs. Cyl # 1 and 3 are the most common. Ive re-rung about five 3.5s this year alone. 4500$ rebuild is cheaper than a used car nowadays.

    OME and worth every penny.
Been using a 'smart' one on my '10 model Ody since '18 now. No issues. Seems to have hit the mileage but as the saying goes 'better than a bump on the head'.
