So the other day me and my dad were hanging out with my kids. And we happened to pass by a dealer that had a 2020 Land Cruiser demo vehicle.

We decided to check it out. It had the rear tv option so basically fully loaded and only had 3,000 miles on it.

As expected it felt great. Lots of power. Didnt roll excessively. Felt big, but never felt like visibility was an issue. Interior room was amazing. Front, rear and third row had lots of space. Compared to my 4runner. This thing had like an extra foot of leg room.

Now as for the price. Honestly, I DO agree that its grossly overpriced for what you're getting. Yes it's well equipped, and had the thicker windshield and double thick exhaust. But there's vehicles in that price range that just have more. Maybe not do more. But definitely have more.
I'm not the type that needs all the fancy bells and whistles for a vehicle, but for 85k+, damn well better wash itself. Especially when the sequoia is very similar but almost half the price. Even has the same engine.

In terms of looks, it's not for everyone. It's rather old looking, but personally I LOVE the look. Just works for me.

My dad has plans in the near future to get a MB sprinter and turn it into a camper. Which is a great idea. But realistically, I dont think he'd ever use it. Not that I'd prefer he got the land cruiser for that crazy price.

Just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on the LC, what do you guys think of it. If you had the funds would you buy one.

I’ve always loved the way they look. If I had unlimited funds I’d have one in my garage.

Agreed. If money wasn't an issue, I'd definitely buy one. But for the working guy, you're just not getting 85 grand worth

My uncle has an ‘08ish LC. I believe it’s been basically problem free and he has 250k miles on it. More than you could say for most luxury brands

I've heard that the newer ones have had some issues that you would rarely or never have with the older ones. But even with toyota building this to last 25 years. They probably aren't building them with the same attention to detail that they used to.

Thought about trading in my truck towards one. A few of my family members in japan have them and they are awesome. I can fuck up a 36k truck on trail I won’t care as much but at 90k I have to think about it.

Considering you could spend close to the same coin for a rebadged Ford [Lincoln] SUV, the Land Cruiser is a hell of a deal. One runs maybe 150-200K, the other runs 1/2 million miles + and holds it's value better.
And it will actually off road and hold together.

Yeah that's honestly the ONLY huge reason I'd even consider a LC. If it was just as reliable as every other comparable vehicle out there. I wouldn't even look at it.

It's what she does. Dont worry, it won't get better, but at least you know she cares enough to do it
