I bought my truck used and I think the previous owner put some type of system on it that makes the horn honk twice when unlocking and once while locking. This horn honk is too loud and I sometimes feel bad when doing it right next to my elderly neighbors window.

I noticed that most Toyota including my old Lexus have a signature Toyota beep that is still audible but not too loud. Does anyone know how I can change it to the "Toyota beep"

Two days into it I removed the "beeper" from my '10 .... I can take the flashers but that damn chirp is gone.

I would also be fine with only having the flashers. The main issue is that the Honk is just way too loud.

My 07 just flashes the lights. The only thing I find annoying is having to press the unlock button twice to unlock all the doors. I wish it would unlock all of them on one press.

Ok, I figured this out. It took a bit of playing a digging but I finally got it. I found out my truck has the KARR alarm system(I think it was a factory option) in it and has a blue LED light below the steering wheel. On the back of the light there is a button.

To turn the "honks" on and off all you need to do is turn the key to "on" then remove the key, then press the button on the back of the LED 6 times. The horn will sound to let you know its worked.

Now I only have the flashers when I lock and unlock.

Many many thanks. This helped me to get rid of that stupid honk.
Now I only have the beeps and the flashers when I lock/unlock the doors but I am a happy camper this way.
    Thanks again

I've got an '09 and would rather have the "honk" then the "beep." Is there a way to change that?

    Thanks,

    Ray

I want the horn instead of the beep. Everyone wants the other way around. Is it even possible to get a horn to sound?
