Admittedly this is my first Tacoma. Just got the TRD Sport and noticed there is no insulation material on the hood. Is this normal and any prior issues/concerns with heat and the paint?

    Thanks in advance!

Hmmmmm....never paid attention to it. That might explain a lot of the older Gen 2's around here with peeling paint on the hoods.

Closest thing on second gen was the padding under the plastic engine cover. Most vehicles its not even insulation.......its actually held on by plastic clips that melt in case of a fire, which drop it and it helps smother the flames...... Helps atleast

Thanks all - my intent is what has happened historically and if there is any concerns - sounds like it may be non issue.

Considering all the underhood fires u see, I guess that totally makes sense about it being a myth....... We don't even have the stock one over the engine when we get a blower.
