3M adhesive strips. It’s the same stuff that I’ve seen hold LED strips to the bottom of kayaks, I know it’ll hold.

You would think Toyota and a company would come up with one that fits in existing holes? I know the 3 M stuff is good but. Hopefully one that eliminates noise. Deflectors on hood and windows tend to make noise.

When Toyota has had official ones (hood deflectors) they've attached by putting protective tape on the hood paint then using two set screws in c-clamp style block brackets to mount. They sat about an inch in from when the front lip of the hood began significant arch/angle over the headlights. Never moved in 20yrs, in even brush car washes.

Chipped paint looks better than all that plastic.

I run these on all of my vehicles. Have had one on my Tahoe for almost 8 years without an issue. It is the same tape that hold on all of your badges, side moldings and the like. If you follow the prep and install them correctly they are not going anywhere. They hold up well in the extreme heat and cold we get in Reno.

I can respect that, but what I don’t like is there is no lip to deflect a stone if it comes up.

Weathertech will offer the same flat one that they offer now for other models. I am not a fan of those as these have the bulge that works as a bug shield. This is the only company that offers this style from what I have seen. These are Autovenshade (AVS) Aeroskin II. I think Husky bought them out or the other way around. I suspect that they have some sort of patent on this design as they are the only ones I have seen with it. I have dealt with several of the flat ones and they all seem to come loose on the outer edges for some reason. I actually just removed one of those this weekend to add one of the Husky ones. To each his own, but I like these. I have one on my work truck, my sons truck, my wife's car. My truck. My dads truck. My mother in laws car.
I do like Weathertech vent shades for the windows, I have used the floor liners and they make quality products but they also do not manufacture anything but the floor mats. Everything else they partner with someone in the US and pay them to put their name on it.
My favorite floormats are actually Rugged Ridge.

Thanks for the reply. I just don't like the tape on method after one of them blew off my Jeep.

Fair enough. I can't imagine one of these blowing off but like anything it is all in the prep. Adhere to a clean surface after cleaning with an alcohol pad. I recommend leaving it out in the sun for a couple of hours so the visor is pliable and the hood is warm. These have 3M tape running around the outer edge all the way around. I can tell you they are a bear to remove. I used to run the old bug shields that bolted to the bottom inside of the hood and these are a much better design.

This one came with an alcohol prep pad. The thing feels like it’s bolted on. I wasn’t expecting it to have a crinkle/matte texture finish but it works on the black body just fine.

well now I’m curious, what’s the purpose of putting an LED strip on the bottom of your kayak? Night fishing or something? Or am I being a total putz
