grabbed these black plastic grill photos because it's easier to see the diff. you can see that the 'top line' in the ctr is much wider on the 2.5 gen than on the 2 gen. They simply can't swap. Scewp is for looks alone. And I don't think it looks bad. Check your local junk yards for a TRD Sport with a decent hood and paint it. Back in the day there was a swap thread, because for every dude who wanted a scoop, there was a dude who wanted to get rid of it. They'd arrange a swap and it was 15 min with a socket. The whole poseur attitude is because the Off Road, considered the tougher rig, came without, while the sport, or mall crawler, came with. It's all in fun. Anybody putting time and money into keeping these Tacomas on the road has my respect. GLWSearch.

Yeah that’s true, but if my intent is to keep it for a long time, it would probably be smarter to just leave it alone. Plus I would want to do everything myself, and I’m not knowledgeable with installing turbos or superchargers. And yes, the added costs in operating it would definitely be getting up there.

I just liked it because it resembles having a TRD Pro...to be honest. lol

I bought it in May 2021 then I logged into TW/Sep 28, 2021 and discovered everything you explained. lol

Then I saw the meme I posted about having a "Skewp" and I've been running with that ever since. lol

That looks badass. Maybe I’ll wait and do a 2.0-2.5 swap. There are more of those hoods around anyway. Regardless thank you.

To bet installed: bling grill, headlights, fog lights.
