not sure if i missed it, but is there another light besides a Ridgid that has been confirmed to fit? Cheaper option would be nice :)

At this point in time there are no other lights that will fit this application. Rigid is the only company that offers a 10" that is slim enough to fit.

    C4,

I'm thinking seriously about pulling the trigger on buying this!

I do a lot of night driving and have to constantly be on the lookout for deer, elk, and other critters crossing my path.

What light option do you think would be best for this? Seeing critters both on and off the side of the road?

Do you notice the light bouncing around while driving down the road?

These lights are very expensive too me!:eek:I never understood why they're so much. Are they really that much better than the old school KC or Hella style lights?

I don't have a problem paying for good stuff as long as it's not an over inflated price. I know you don't set the crazy price for these, the manufacturers do, but damn! $200 - almost $400 for a 10" light!

I do realize that the rigid lights are expensive, but YES they are way better than the old school halogen beam Hella's. I have three of the 55 watt 6" round hellas on the front of my 4runner and the rigid 10" single row far outperforms them in distance, coverage, and brightness. If you are looking for more of a full coverage type beam pattern, then I would suggest the driving beam style of the rigid 10" single row. check out the pics that DJSPEC posted on the last page, he used the driving pattern light and its amazing how much coverage and distance it can accommodate. The driving beam is more expensive than the standard flood or spot beam, but its worth it.
If you want even more coverage in the ditches than what the driving beam setup in the scoop can offer, than I would suggest adding some higher quality flood beam LED lights to your front bumper which you can aim more into the ditches.

If you decide to go with the driving beam, I can sell you that light for 275.00, which is a pretty low price compared to most places you will find it.

As far as the light bouncing, that does not happen at all. I have designed my bracket to fit well and keep the light firm in position inside the scoop. If you were to ever notice any movement of the light, it would be from your entire hood vibrating up and down while off-road.

yes the driving beam version of the Rigid single row 10" is 275 by itself. Then another 65 for the bracket kit.

I spent some time re-thinking the original design of this bracket trying to figure out how to use less hardware and make it one piece without any welding reguired. Here are some pics of the new brackets. They are now laser cut 14ga press brake formed steel brackets that will be powdercoated black. price is still 75.00 for the bracket. They are now even easier to install!!

The remaining old style powdercoated brackets that I still have are now on sale for 55.00 each! PM me to make your order before they are all gone!

It's awesome that you're continuously improving on your idea! Just because something work good doesn't mean it can't be improved. Nice job!

Haha, I agree! I think the TRD's should have came with a scoop also. Have to special order a TRD with a sport scoop from the factory I guess, if that's even possible.
