I choose the panel route due to the cost savings over a dual battery system. I was looking at $529 (US) for the Genesis system and then 2 batteries (Odyssey 34R-790 for example) at $259 (US) each. Let's see... 529 + 2 x 259 (bedmas applied) = $1047 (US). Hmmmmmm... no brainer for me.

I don’t understand what people try to pick apart this crap. Obviously this product is intended in the guys who will spend 2k on a RTT just to roll 2 miles into the woods to Snap a pic for their Instagram account and spend a night basically glamping in their Tacoma with a fridge sitting around a skottle. Trust me, they will have no problem dropping $600 getting Atleast 200 bro points.

I think a bunch of people are already halfway there, so it becomes an individual basis on cost.

I already have a solar set up with a tri-battery system, that said I would be a buyer for a panel only at a price point of $249 just to supplement it. Any more than that and I’ll just stick with the 100w I already have up top. I have a Redarc bcdc so no need for the controller. Good idea, I dig the thought process.

I'm in the same boat, but without a bcdc. I have a roof rack i need to customize and drill into my roof to fit, a 100W panel and nothing else. I could recoup the cost of the rack and put that money into this setup, saving me from drilling holes in my access cab. I think this is a good solution for access cab guys needing solar.

3m vhb seems a bit rough on the paint.

I agree, 90w is pretty damn good for the size of the panel. I was surprised by that, with your setup I bet you’d be in good shape with this system.

That's what I'm thinking. The pre-order is less than $600, but I'm still unsure about early adoption. It is an answer to something I've been considering for months, already.
