It is indeed. The gauge pod will be the only thing still attached if I decide to hit the wall at 110mph.

The picture i saw routed the wiring towards the windshield, under the hood via the cowl/hood area.

I would like a picture of this as well.

I have a 4G booster, and it has saved my hide. I bought it when working out in the West Texas oil field, and in areas where a reliable signal was hard to come by at times. It was expensive, but I considered it a potentially life saving piece of equipment.

it is in the truck now mainly because I paid for it already, but I seldom turn it on anymore.

Whoa. I didn’t know this was a thing. Tell me more. I hunt way up north where there are cell towers about a hundred miles away and I can sometimes get service on a mountain top. I could use something like that.

I have an older model it has the Wilson branding. they have since change to weboost..

    https://www.weboost.com/products/drive-4gx

there has to be a signal for it to work, it can not create one out of nothing. but it will take a weak signal and make it useable.

just do not leave it on while your vehicle sits, it will kill your battery, sometimes overnight..

I don't really think anyone is bitching. I think they're lookin for feedback and most people just gave their opinions. I don't see an issue

That's where I'm at. I would like more feedback. I love the idea, though, and have thought about it myself.

no, I was just joking about the conversion..

600 CAD to USD = 458.489 US Dollars.

I took it as bitching.. but some people will pay, some will complain. This is life

Yeah, it's really innovative. I liked it, but I'm not taking just one opinion before I spend the money. I really liked it.

That’s legit and might just work for us. I want to try it. If it’s better than paying Garmin for Inreach service it’s gonna be a game changer.

I run a 100w Renogy solar panel on my roof rack, going to a group 24 deep cycle battery (not connected to my main battery) (and it was not $450 us). If my main battery dies, then Ill break out my Noco jump pack. Im not going to wait around 30-40 min for the sun to get to my hood.

Here's a view of the wiring from the panel to under the hood. This connects to the MPPT solar charge controller, that then connects to the battery. There is also an accessory output on the controller which I am going to wire to a full time accessory outlet. My panel has come up and re-installed and the tape cleaned off my hood cleanly.

This was the right decision for me and my travels.

(and no, I will not be getting a 4G booster as I have an inReach mini for emergencies)
