Yeah but it seems like HI is the only place to mod trucks in this way. We were wondering if there is some hidden reason to do it. It doesnt offend me you can do whatever you want.

You guys live on a volcano and mostly choose to live there because its one of the most beautiful places on earth. We are not knocking you for it, just curious as to if the tires are an advantage in any possible way

You car is painted to prevent rust.

Sorry about the race term, i would guess your asian...or your fond of asians. I just thought it was a descriptive term for the car i was talking about.

and finally, posting a question on the internet is easier than flying to hawaii. I dont see any hawaii style trucks (oops was that racist) in west virginia. And i specifically stated...TWICE...im not making fun i just wanted to know and it is perfectly ok if it is for style, i just wanted to know.

    thanks for the response

so do they not make aftermarket hoods with bulges for the imports trying to fit bigger motors? I think that would look a lot better.

i use to own a honda civic ef with motor swap and was fast as shit and i was making it look like a real jdm ef. the spacer is more of a style that goes with the jdm look.

does profit for cooling in engine bay, but was started in japan which transfered to the look to jdm (japanese domestic market) that were people get it from. to get a different hood with a hood scoop or something like that would be ricey as hell.

jdm style import is not ricey at all, its just a really clean car with certain parts from another country which happens to have alot of parts to make a car look clean.
kinda hard to explain, if knowbody has a clue.

as for the little wide tires on trucks, maybe the wideness to stay on top of the sand better.

I'm guess the HI big lifts have more to do with the area they live in...on Kauai it seems like most of the locals have these trucks...I'm thinking its so they can go through mud and brush easier, and I'm thinking the lift is visibility.

idk they look retarded to me too, but the few times I've been to Kauai their are a ton of tacos and other small pickups with crazy lifts like that...and the other thing they all have in common is they are all caked with mud/dirt

    That would make sense...
I wonder if lift parts are cheaper in Hawaii, since according to this thread, every on Hawaii has a lifted truck.

seriously man...I thought that too, but remember everything in HI is crazy expensive do to shipping...

maybe some popular guy made a business out of sourcing a shit ton of lifts and then whored them out to all his buddies that he told to buy tacos...and now its just a HI thing!

Hood spacers was for clearing bigger engine in honda/acura when swaping motors...but now its just a trend...it'll cost more to go get your hood custom fitted so it'll look flush to your car then a couple washers...you take your pick

Never saw the hood spacers before.that's just as gay as the light up hood squirters. The wide tires is kinda strange but look good sometimes.the baby one,I have no words.
