Scheduled my truck to go in for hood fix on Monday. They said it will be a 2 day fix. I am getting a loaner car. I will mention the 48 hour cure time adhesive instead of the 24 hour. I will be taking a picture of the top of my hood before I take it in for sure.

Off topic: they finally fixed my driver side window control rattle from my JBL speakers. They had to reinforce the door with foam and other things to stop the vibration from making the controls rattle. I had this problem with my 2011 Tacoma sub-woofer in the back. They just put more foam in it to make the rattle stop. Happy that they fixed that dumb rattle. I hope the hood fix is just as good.

If anyone is going to DIY this fix, the only product I would recommend is Vulkem 116 or an equivalent polyurethane sealant. It sticks to anything permanently, stays flexible for dampening, and is durable as can be. The only drawback is it should be left alone to cure for 2 days. I would steer away from the gorilla/foam glues as they harden and lose the dampening affect.

Fact- Toyota is statistically the most reliable truck line and has been for a long time. That does not make it perfect, but it does make it the best, hence the "Legendary Quality". Until another brand takes the #1 spot of actual reliability statistics, they will continue to be known as the best. It is not some made up fanboy wish, though some think that #1 means flawless which it doesn't. It just means #1.

    One Source of many.

when the stuff expands, it would ooze out in the path of least resistance. I don't think it would cause the hood to deflect or dent.

Facts are that Toyota is not what they used to be and everyone else has caught up. The "new" Tacoma is a big disappointment and loses just about every comparison test against GM. Say what you want but fact are facts.

I see you on ColoradoFans forums. We all know about the quality of the new chevy/gm. Hood fluttering is also an issue.. Not to mention the many colorados having transmission clunking Issues.. You folks need to get a aftermarket tune to help alleviate the issue a little. Stop trolling the 3rd gen forums to make yourself feel better about your Colorado.

I totally agree...these egomaniacs are Detroit plants...if you don't own an 2016 3rd Gen then go somewhere else unless you have some constructive thoughts for us 2016 owners...we are here to share and yes a new model with an all new everything will have some introduction issues...it is an awesome vehicle so just go away...it is time that TW ferret these guys out of our forums and stop calling them "respected member" or whatever...let's help each other...

You are right an wrong at the same time. Toyota isn't what it use to be. But the big 3 are atoll way behind it. It's a fact that gm buy rating also.

But then again what in today's day an age do you buy that's not designed to be disposable??

I have a feeling most of the 'newbies' with more than 1 comment have already surpassed the number of useful comments you've made to this forum in those 5 years.

This is a passive aggressive comment same with all your other comments in this thread. This helps no one out and just makes you look like a douche with nothing better to do. Please grow up and use this forum for what it was meant to be used for.

Nothing you have said so far in here is contributing to the topic.
