Are all of these vehicles that are failing built in one plant, or are both plants giving the hood problems?

Complaints are on some trucks from both plants but many are not affected. Mine is a Baja truck and no issue with this.

First post, lol. Been lurking a lot and decided to make an account.

Anyways, I bought a 16' OR and noticed the same issue with the hood (complete degradation on most of the adhesive blobs). The first time I took it in, I did not even hand over the keys, I was told to wait for Toyota to address the issue and that any damage caused by it would be covered by warranty... I took the truck back in again yesterday to check on trans fluid level, and also mentioned the hood deal again. The "service advisor" wrote up on my invoice that nothing was wrong. Was not happy with that, so I ended up speaking to a mechanic. He looked at it out in the parking lot and agreed that something needed to be done. Taking the truck back in tomorrow and they are going to see what they can do.

I have a Sport and have no issues with hood vibrations or having the adhesive coming loose in amy spots under my hood, and I'm coming up on around 3,000 or so on the truck. I looked under the hood yesterday and my adhesive appears to be a dark grey color, which seems different than the lighter, almost tan color that the trucks that are having issues seem to have. One thing though is the top part/cover of the hood scoop is a little loose with some wiggle in it. Noticed some screws under the hood for the scoop and guessing they may allow me to tighten it down. Was in a Costco parking lot, so couldn't address it there. Will check ti out later today if I'm feeling up to it. Threw my back out a week ago and still jacked up (was at Costco pharmacy picking up some steroids and muscle relaxers and could barely even get in and out of the truck my back hurts so much!)

Yeah, I'm 39 and super active and had a double discectomy and double, hemi-laminectomy 7 years ago and still snowboard, mountain bike and paddle. Hoping this starts improving. I don't want to go through what I went through before.

@mjones1970 here are some pics of the black adhesive under the hood of my 4x4 sport. Manufacture date is 8/15.

That is what I thought too. Those light colored adhesive looks like it shrunk basing on the pics that were posted earlier. I checked all the black adhesive under the hood and it looks the same the day I bought it, which means it did not shrink.

And they put a generous amount of adhesive too because you can see that it is oozing out.
