I honestly thought about it. However, another member pointed out that I might void the warranty if the problem should end up being worse than it appears. Ie, in two years, the hood skin comes completely off, Toyota finds my glue, and says they won't fix it. Could happen.

I should also have mentioned that I fear that the paint has already sustained some serious damage in 6k miles of vibrating. This isn't just a little movement, it's enough to make a setting sun on the horizon look like a strobe light. First thought I had when I saw it was "man, this ain't gonna be good for the paint." So, I'm pretty happy with the possibility of getting a new and freshly painted hood.

Eff. Seriously; Eff. I wonder where else Toyota used this bubblegum. I only knew about the hood because I saw it vibrating. I wonder if there are other vibrating panels that I cannot see. Eff.

I wouldn't worry about the door like the hood. It's not being fired into the wind at a 100 k like the hood is.

The really frustrating part about all this is that I could very easily fix this myself. But for a fucking $40k brand new truck, I don't think I should have to. Please everyone call Toyota directly and file complaints for this.

Same here. My glue has separated completely at several spots, but I'm not convinced the hood is vibrating. I would love to see a video of what a vibrating hood looks like. I will watch it more closely.

That really sucks. I hate how difficult it is to get quality repairs done. I know people advise against DIY fixes, but I hate wasting my time at the dealer.... warranty or not. If I notice my hood vibrating, I'll probably attempt to fix it myself.

This is what I think is called a self fulfilling prophecy. Just a crazy suggestion but how about just driving your truck without trying to find something to go wrong. Look for trouble and it will find you.

I completely agree with you. But I read parts of this thread, and I couldn't keep myself from popping the hood and looking for the separation of the glue/foam thing. And now it's too late... I'll be starring at my hood the next time I drive.

Now you are just being silly. I must find a problem with my truck. Or else.

    Hello TW members,

This is my second post on this forum and English is my second language. I apologize everyone if my writing is not clear in your language.

I too have the hood vibration problem with my 2016 Tacoma DC SB due to adhesive failure. Mazda had this same hood vibration issue and they used the 3M NVH (Noise Vibration and Harshness) part# 04274, which Splitbolt mentioned earlier in this thread, to remedy the problem. Please see the attached files for more details.

Sucks brother! This is why I haven't taken mine in yet. I have it noted on file, but until there's a concrete fix that the dealer will perform I'm not taking it in. I will give it until my 5 and 10K mile service if I'm not comfortable with the fix the dealer wants I will likely hire it out to a really good body shop and pay it out of pocket. It will be a huge strike against Toyota in my book. I do feel like with some more time and more complaints Toyota will take care of the problem though.
