Just dropped my truck off at the dealership for a side step bolt issue since they have a Toyota Quality Engineer on site today. They wouldn't let me meet hime but I told them to check the hood.

The dealership said forums are essentially shady when I mentioned I'm on one where evidence was posted. Ya'll are some shady mofo's! Hahahaha.

I do have a little flexing on my OR so I expect them to come back and say it's "normal".

How are forms shady on this. If it's broke it's clear as day.

    Guy was an asshole!

He said disgruntled users are on the forums lol. I said yes...but there's also documented evidence. He's a nice gut overall, just felt like my request was someway not valid in his body language when I mentioned the "F" word.

But shit...if there's an actual QA Engineer on site there was no way I wasn't going to mention this issue. I also complained about my radio reception. The shuttle that drove me home sounded better than mine! Hopefully a rental car will be available later today.

Hope he does not dismiss your concerns and looks into them ad fix they to your satisfaction. We paid top dollar for our trucks I want top service also.

Who was the guy who you were talking to? You said "the Dealership", the owner, the secretary, the janitor, Service Manager or salesman. All but one of those would know what he/she was talking about.

Members of this forum are who ever we want to be. Some you know right away they own a Tacoma or are about to buy one. Others could be 13 year olds playing mind games with ill equipped adults. To that extent the guy you were talking to was correct.

    Didn't irk me....I wasn't lumped into the shady crowd...maybe after I left I was. :D

The hood issue is on my paperwork so it'll at least be looked at. The thread issue will get fixed...probably at a body shop, and the radio reception most likely won't get fixed unless I go to an audio place....we shall see.

The service manager. Couldnt tell you if he's a part time janitor haha.

I've talked with him a few times and he's quite nice. I'm not 100% sure he understands I have valid issues and not some paranoid owner who thinks every rattle is the end of the world. I've have better connections with other service managers....might not be the perfect love match.

I suspect listening to guys/gals go on and on about some bug smudge on their bumper would get tiring after awhile. Local guy here is and has been great. Smaller city with only one dealer helps some.

Exactly. I've been going to my dealership since 2012 so they'll take care of me some way some how. They were busy today, and I'm not used to not having solid answers on my concerns so I'm trying to step back and chill.

Got my Tacoma back from the dealer yesterday, the body shop removed and replaced all of the old adhesive under the hood. Seems to have fixed the problem, only time will tell how long it holds up. Here's a couple photos of how it looks now, not much different than before except this adhesive seems to be holding.

I had a side bolt issue as well Had to Dremel some metal away to get to the bolt hole. The body was not attached correctly about 1/8" off. The middle bolt. Other bolts were fine.

Goofy. Toyota has it in the body shop; me and power tools don't mix well. Not sure if the hood adhesive is also being addressed, but I'll keep folks posted. Going to pick up my rental now since there were none on hand earlier....feel free to take bets I'll be rollin in a corolla.

No, I didn't ask. Whatever adhesive the body shop used it was something they already had in stock, it wasn't special ordered. Dropped the truck off in the afternoon and picked it up the next morning.

No, there are plenty of moms who will keep buying DCSB 'trucks' for them to ever go out of business

Same issue on mine. Not in a huge rush to fix it, but watching this thread closely to see resolutions/time frame. It's very slightly annoying when driving 50+ mph, otherwise not noticeable.

I'm in the same boat. Not a major concern, but want to address it before warranty is out.

I drove my truck through a Tidal Wave car wash and the high pressure air beat the daylights out of my hood. The outer skin had tons of ripples and flexing during the process. I've driven my previous 2012 Tacoma through it with no issue.

I don't think I'll be doing that anymore; this trucks hood isn't near as durable as previous generation.

Fortunately, there doesn't appear to be any damage to my hood.

I'm not sure why the hood reinforcements aren't closer to the actual skin. Seems it would cut back on the deflection
