So I've dealt with the glare off the hood for 2 months now and had no idea people were putting matte black vinyl to remedy this. Saw a truck the other day and actually liked the way it looked. Anyone have a shop in San Diego (N. County is better) that does this for a reasonable price but does a solid install?

It's not really going to help as much as you think. Sure, it'll minimize it some, but you're still going to get glare bugging you. I wrapped my hood scoop with matte black and I still get a nasty glare off the scoop. I'm not trying to discourage you, but just making sure you have realistic expectations. All that matters in the end is if you like the way it looks.

There's a photoshop thread where folks will help you figure that out.

I'm hoping that matte black is better than SSM for the reflection. Even if only a slight reduction is better.

@Norsemanvike is correct that the glare won’t be gone completely. @CBoy808 makes fantastic hood scoop vinyl wraps. I personally think his 3rd gen wraps fit the hood scoop better than 2nd gen but I still bought one anyway for my truck and couldn’t be happier.

He also does some custom work
