    hey yall !

so i know there are a lot of posts on this but maybe i didn’t find the correct one. i’m installing the SK M500 1D from skar. i’ve seen a lot of videos and seen forums for hooking it up to the oem radio using a T harness (purchased this one from AmaZon) to connect to the High input in the amp. We weren’t sure which wire was the amp/remote on/off wire and saw everywre it was the blue/white wire or blue one. we tapped into it and got a signal to the amp and the bass knob lit up, but the music cuts out after a couple seconds of play or as soon as the volume goes up or down.

i’m not sure what the issue is, my friend tried messing with the gray white we tapped (ill insert a pic) but ended up breaking the wire. we joined it together but the signal isn’t working to the radio at all.

my friend thinks when the wire snapped it touched the radio and messed up the fuse ?? even tho we checked and it has a signal.

we also think it might be the way i connected my wiring to the harness. i’ll post a pic of pre harness and not sure if i can post a video but explain what i did.

so the harness has front and rear left and right negative and positive wires (purple, gray, white, green) and the high input harness has similar colors so it was easy to match (these however are just left and right positive and negative not front or rear) so when soldering the high input (left +, left -, ground, right +, right -) i wasn’t sure if it needed to go to rear or front so i combined them. we think that might be the issue. but im not sure if i do tap it to the front left + what happens to the rear left + ??

The Grey wire is the 12v+ switched let to turn the amp on. tap into that for remote turn on at amp. the Brown wire is a ground, you can tap into that for the 12v- lead into high power input of amp

so i ended up back tracking and getting the RCA converter and just used my rca cables :/ still had to tap into the remote wire but i believe me combining my front n rear speakers threw something off.
