I installed it brand new to this so I never had it on my old dash kit. I’ve watched the install video and the only step I didn’t do was the top mounting screws on the top part of the dash kit

Were you ever able to find out what gauges are available through the Maestro?
I even called their tech support and couldn’t get an answer if transmission temperature was an option.

Which wire are you splicing in with the ground? Just the one from the head unit, the one from the maestro, or both? I ask because there is a video from 5 star audio that states all you need to do to bypass the parking brake on a Kenwood HU is loop the wire from the HU to the chassis of the HU. However, that leaves me wondering what to do with the wire going to the maestro. Do I just leave it un-connected or should it be attached to a ground?

That 2nd pic of tire pressures... Very nice.

This might sway me away from my single din Kenwood.

Installed a Kenwood DDX9907XR over the weekend in my 2014. I was initially confused about the wiring diagram to get the backup camera to work. I did not have a cable that came with the Maestro with bare wires to splice into the trucks wiring. I had three cables marked backup camera 1, 2, and 3 that had an RCA and connectors to attach to the trucks wiring and the Maestro. My truck uses the 28 pin connector (middle in pic). I hooked the 28 pin connector to the truck wiring, the RCA to the backup camera mating RCA on the radio, and the small connector to the Maestro (or Maestro wiring, I can't remember which). After I selected the rear camera interruption in the radio it worked as advertised with no splicing. It was literally plug and play, as it should be. For me post, #99 of this thread was completely unnecessary. For the parking brake bypass, I did it just like the video above and capped off the wire in the Maestro wiring.

When it comes to the OBD II data gauges, I don't get the fuel info. Not sure what the deal is with that yet. Early in this thread I read something about resetting the Maestro and reseating the OBD II connector. So, I will have to go back and re-read that section. There was a picture in post #85 of being able to do some Maestro settings stuff through the radio, but I am not sure if mine can do that. I haven't been through the plethora of settings in the radio yet to see if it is there.

I can’t remember but I believe my fuel started workin’ when I programmed in the Tank size etc. The distance to empty can alive too. There’s a bunch of things like that. Settin’ kinda a “red line” on the MAF gauge was valuable. As you go through the screens you’ll get the hang of it.

I haven't seen a place to program in the fuel tank size. Did you do that through the radio or maestro? Either way, I haven't seen a setting for that. I just read trough the entire manual for the radio and I don't believe I have a way to access the Maestro through the radio like @mctechhweng posted a picture of his radio in post #85.

Never mind, I found it. It wasn't in the Kenwood radio manual. There is a Maestro T01 & Kenwood Radio manual that showed me where to go.

I still have a number of issues to sort through. I don't like how I can't set the steering wheel control settings to the way they are stock. For instance, pressing the up and down arrows would cycle between the presets on the stock radio or change tracks on a CD. That isn't an option to set in the Maestro. I can have it seek stations, but not go through the presets. It does change tracks on a CD though.

On mine I used it to control source input. Didn’t like it at first & was gonna change it. Then it kinda grew on me so I left it. Glad you found the fuel settings page.

Just installed a maestro RR into a kenwood excelon deck. Hooked it all up, including the ODB port. All stock settings. Man does it work nicely! My one point of advice, the RR instructions are pretty vague. Even though it shows you plugging in 4 harnesses, I only needed 2, but out of the TO1 harness kit I had to plug in multiple adapters into one another to get all the way from A to B. And I'm guessing about 1/4 of the total wiring in the whole snake is unused. Ended up cutting some out since it's so huge I could barely get the radio back in the dash! Works really nicely though, 09 Tacoma so I don't have the fancy dash displays like you new guys do. Until today, now I can see individual tire pressure, battery charge, lots of live gauges, it's great. Well worth doing.

Any pics of what gauges you get with the maestro? I have a 2010 and plan on going with a kenwood excelon and the maestro RR if it gives fuel readings abs other options

But is there a way to make the stereo skip by presets and NOT seek?

I think it will depends on which model you get, best thing would be to check out the deck manual online and see which gauges you get. I have tack, speedo, battery, individual wheel tpms, don’t think I saw any fuel stuff. Mine is an 09 Tacoma though so depends on how new the truck is too.

That’s cool. I don’t do any towing so it won’t bother me on that one. Hopefully mpg and remaining fuel will show

I have not found a solution to this, but I haven’t tried very hard either. I suspect not, but maybe there’s something in the options when you flash the iData.

I didn't see anything. I am wondering if there is a way to do it in the radio itself. I bought a Kenwood DMX-706S....the configurations are ENDLESS...

Wait....i am actually looking at the manual and I think page 36 might fix it. AUTO2 on the seek settings. https://manual.kenwood.com/files/B5A-2849-00.pdf
