    Front plug and play component speakers with crossover with 3rd gen dash harness from Crutchfield. With Crutchfields 72-8110 dash harness, I had to cut the 2 loops (to create wires 2 and 4) then just taped them out of the way, then splice wires 2 and 4 to now have 4 wires to work with.TacoTns has a harness with no loops, which will work even easier. After splicing, I now have the mids input wires from the crossover back to the harness can now plug and play your new front dash harness to oem dash harness directly. And for the door speakers harness, use the Metra 72-8104 for plug and play to oem door harness on door. The plug and play harness works with the flowing 1+ mids, 3- mids, which will be used for your feed from your crossover back to the harness to send to the door speakers. The 2+ input, 4- input will be be signal sent from the H/U to your new crossover input source. And your tweeters will be on their own from crossover tweeter out directly to your tweeter bypassing the harness. Anyways I know I'm always grateful for the help and great guidance on TW. Just paying it forward. Cheers Al

    Thanks for this! Where did you mount the crossovers?

    the harness he's using is to replace the dash tweeters-- the oem tweeters use a 4-pin harness that connects through to the door speakers. unplug the tweeters, and the door speakers cut out.

    so because this interupts the tweeter plug, the crossovers need to be mounted near where the oem tweeters are, in the dash corners.

    For sure, thanks for the explanation. I'm actually installing this same setup with the kicker 47KSS6904 6x9s

    I mounted the crossovers in behind the kick panels drivers and passenger sides. You will get some transmitted noise in the speakers the closer the crossovers are to the firewall. So you should see a floor foot well grove/slot right on the floor behind each of the kick panels, they'll fit nice in there and there's no transmitted noise too. Hope this helps Cheers Al

    Appreciate this tip as well. Any suggestions for running an amp? I'm going with the kicker 47key200.4. I found a wiring t-harness that should make it a little easier for me.

    Hey buddy sorry for the late replies, in the middle of moving. I put my amp under the drivers seat. Now i also have installed Seat Jackers in the front legs and some spacers on the back legs of both front seats. Gave me tones of room for the amp. But i heard that Key amp can fit many places. Cheers

    Hey, I just appreciate the tips! Any sense in running the crossovers through the amp, or will it basically do the same thing like this and the amp in/out going directly into the OEM HU?

    @TRDSport17North

    Thank you for this! Between your write up and the ta**tu**s YouTube video I was able to figure it out for the crossover in my application.

    I'm too lazy to solder, so I used post-twist crimps and sone extra 16awg stinger wire from Crutchfield and a little heat shrink. This harness will work for the crossover input and woofer and I'll run an extra section of +/- wire for the CDT unity 8.0 mid tweeters down to the crossover connection.

    Hopefully this helps others with their install.

    T Tunz has a plug and play harnesses (I used) for installing amps. Just remember (if don't all ready know) .. 2020 + non jbl have a separate harness for just the speakers only, unlike previous years it was all in with power ect harness.

    Yah, it seems my job with amp install will be much easier than pre 2020 setups!
