Are the "tracks" routes shown on the map open seasonally too or at all? I see two different symbols used on the maps at the heads of a lot of these off shoots of the main roads, I'm guessing they are gates but maybe one means closed and the other symbol means open...the legend does not seem to have the symbols listed.

Found the answer to my own question with a few more clicks. There is a Wiki with all the info on symbols and lines. These are both gates, just different types.

Are the gates open all night long? Out here now and wondering if I needed to head back or not. Lol

If those gates close (pretty sure) they all have a sensor that will open it so you can get out, but not get back in. I know it works that way at CMR and MGR. Can't imagine HPR would be any different.

I'll be making a trip up tomorrow to explore some camping areas and offshoots.

Probably be raining but it was supposed to rain all day today and we havnt seen a drop.
If anyone wants to tag along, I'll be at holly springs store around noon.

Will be entering at the Timmerman entrance down past the fire station.

I might be interested. This is my first 4x4 and it’s bone stock. Do you think that would be an issue with the rain we’ve had?

No issues at all. It's really tame.
More of nature trail ride with a couple great overlooks.
Not even really any chances of getting any pinstripes.

They’ve widened it even more recently so if you get pinstripes, you’re “talented”

Sounds good. If I can get my errands done today and tomorrow morning I will try and make it. If you don’t hear from me , please assume I am out. Thank you.

For any of you late comers..
Leaving Easley Wal-Mart in a few to head to holly springs general store.

Will be entering at Rocky bottom instead of cane creek entrance.
Seems like that's closer to cane brake.

    So...short story.
    Everything is closed.
The gate from cane creek was even close, which I've never seen this time of year.

So if you were to come in off hwy 11, past the fishing area at the bridge @Marty65 past dugs mt , past the fire station.

If you would have went in there, which is where I initially said I was going in,you would have had to turn around once you hit the split to jumping off rock.

Essentially it was one way in, one way out at the rocky bottom entrance. There was no exit at cane creek back out to hwy 11.

Cane break was closed and all other trails were closed. The gate at jumping off rock was even closed and I was there just a couple weeks ago and it was open.

Very foggy and you could not see out into any of the overlooks (4)) between Rocky bottom and JOR.

No worries...I got to shift in and out of 2 low to 4 hi to 4 low, front and rear lockers, sway bar disco.

And I got to hang out with a girl I dated 35 or so years ago that just moved to the area.
    So all was not lost.

It was cold, sloppy, wet. All trails were closed. Fog was bad, but we made a good time of it anyway.
