I have a 08 tacoma TRD off road with 2.5" lift and stock wheels. I am running 265/75/16 dura tracs now. However I have grown tired of them and plan to add some 285/75/16 dura tracs in the near future. I do not plan to add any lift. I really like my stock wheels and plan to keep them. Would a 1.25" spacer get me clear of the UCA's?

I have no problem cutting a little frame to stop the rub. I fully expect to do that. So dont even consider that one of my "issues" (im not afraid to do some cutting). I just dont want to order 1" spacers and really need 1.5". I prefer to go with the smallest possible that will work...

Anyone have any experience with this particular set up?

Many people run spidertrax wheel spacers. I think 1.25 is the magical number-just enough. Check out wheelers for more info, but almost everyone here reccomends spidertrax. With these, you can clear 285s on stock wheels all day.

the 1.25 will push stock tires out to where the tread (on a typical LT tire) is just barely under the wheel arch and the sidewall is just beyond it.
If you get bigger tires from there (on same offset) you'll be outside the well.
