Mine was woefully under powered on the highway and wandered like you would not believe. Off road, these became advantages. The frame, though not as stout as a larger truck was in comparison was more than one would expect for a vehicle this small. The whole vehicle just seemed.......third world. Meaning, it was more at home under 50 with no tarred roads in sight. Suzuki is a terrible company support and parts wise and it was the only reason I sold it.

It's hard to say which is better off road, a Wrangler or a Taco
One thing is for sure, I feel safer cruising in a Taco at 80 mph in a cross wind going to trails then a Wrangler. I think it's hard to beat Toyota off road products for overall value and bang for the buck. it is almost mpossible to find a vehicle that cost as little base, cruises as comfortably and goes off road as well as a 4Runner all things considered.

Depends on the trail. A front and rear SA is gonna do better in slow speed crawling, where as the Tacoma is going to do better in the high speed stuff.

That was my point exactly.....obviously it has a lot to do with tires and how it is set up but most off road vehicles are pretty unique.

Talk about Suzukis brings back memories. I have owned a 98 RC Tacomoa 4WD and now own a 15 AC 4WD, but I still miss my old grey market SJ410 with its pathetic little 1L 4 cyl. That thing would go anywhere though. I swear though, if you tried to go much over 60 on th highway it would cuss you out in Japanese! Had to order parts from a dealer in Toronto. At that time I had people see it and say they thought Suzuki only made motorcycles.

It had been owned by a motorcycle dealer in Orange VA and had very low mileage when I bought it. I was told it was brought down from Canada.
I have always been curious though how Hawaii got the SJs but no one on the mainland did.
