LMAO! @ the bold section. Which.....is kinda true. However, it seems the Cherokee gained a lot of points on fit/finish, and refinement. The 4 Runner interior doesn't hold a candle, However, the clear winner, IMHO, IS the 4Runner, as I don't think the Cherokee is as capable off road as the 4 Runner is.

I actually have a timer/odometer in the jeep, that tracks my off road distance, and time. So far, I have 948 miles off road :)

Yeah. Some of the things I didn't think I would like, Im finding myself really happy with. Built in hard drive, for example, along with being able to see what actual psi is in each tire.

I know all the vehicles were stock, hence why I said the test was performed on a stock vehicle.

I like how Chevy/GM gets invited to these shoot outs and always decline. This must be the 5th article that I've read comparing all brands and GM refuses to play. That should tell you something there...

So? This has turned from a "I hate jeeps", to "I love jeeps". How'd this happen? Am I on the correct site? Maybe I'm on jeepworld

Why bash Jeep? or any of the manufacturers? They all have their tributes, faults and niche in the auto industry.

I dig the concept of Jeeps. Some of the design choices, not so much. Loved the 4.0. It is up there with many a Toyota block on longevity and durability. The NP231 with the open rear output just perplexed me to no end.

If I had the money, I'd pick up a 2006 Jeep Ultimate and methodically go through replacing all the weak parts and oddball design choices. Heck, I wish they'd bring the Ultimate back. The 4 door is too big and the 2door is too small. Call me Goldilocks.

This, good sir, is incorrect. The Rubi has always come with front AND rear lockers, not to mention the 4:1 transfer case. However, comparing a rubicon and a tacoma is like comparing apples to oranges. They have different purposes. I have owned both and while their uses certainly cross paths, they are distinctly different critters.
