I got lined up. We've been married 29 years this December. I suppose we are both together still because there's more good than bad.

Side note: I was watching that Sister Wives show with my wife and recognized one of those polygamist wives on TV as someone that I work with at my office. Freaked me out.

Met the girl I'm currently dating back as freshman in high school. Dated a little back then, though nothing serious. Kind of lost touch through college. About 2 years ago we bumped into each other at the hospital she works at. We didnt really talk because we were both busy with patients, but had kinda been looking for each other since. Well finally got together within the past few months and just enjoying the ride. Something tells me this could be good. so well see.

I was living with a girl in her house that she wanted to sell. Early saturday morning a couple came to look at the house. Woke us up. I opened the door and there she was. They bought the house and we all hung around for a couple of months. I liked her and she liked me and we both knew it. She was married with kids and I had my own deal with the girl I was living with. We both had too much at stake to go there. Well we stopped hanging around. Little over a year passed and the girl I was seeing split. Being single and all, I hit the club and guess who was waitressing?? There she was. She was divorced, I was single. That was almost 15 years ago. Still at it. Here she is.

So, if she got divorced, did she get the house, which you then moved back into? Now, THAT would be a funny story! :)

Nah, her ex booted her and kept the house . He's an ass. He tried to get us to buy it from him when we were looking for a house. We passed on it. Too much history there.

The wife and I met Sept. 11 2001. The date was set up by my sister (they work together). When everything happened, everyone that was supposed to come, went home to their families. My sister, Jo (my wife) and I all lived alone and didn't really feel like going home to no-one, so we met at a bar had some drinks and eventually went home. (when the bar closed). We set up an actual date for the weekend and have been together ever since.

I saw her at bar and I used my best pickup line:

"Excuse me, does this rag smell like chloroform?"

A quick ride in the Tacoma and a brief....uh....."wedding ceremony" later and we were hitched!

Ah, I was reading the "at what age did you get married?" thread and remembered that this particular thread was floating around somewhere on TW.

It seemed right to give it a bump after all these years. :D

However, I have nothing to contribute to this thread...

    YET!!!

Got engaged this past summer to my g/f of seven years. Met at an 18 and over club (I was 18 she was 17) through a mutual friend but didn't get her number. Mutual friend and a thing for me so she wouldn't give me her number. Found her on myspace and met up with her and started dating.

I gotta say that is almost a movie moment right there. It is cool that you met again later on.

My first wife I met her in a funny way. My girlfriend at the time had run off with another guy, and our 4 month old son. I was searching for her for days and stopped at one of our favorite restaurants where a mutual friend worked. The friend hadn't heard from her. I was sitting in a corner booth all upset and this beautiful waitress came up to me and sat with me. We talked for close to 6 hours until the sun came up.(her shift was over) We eventually married and had 2 beautiful daughters. Unfortunately we ended up in divorce 5 years after we got married.

Second wife we met on the Quest chat line in Dallas. Went out and things just clicked. We were together for 13 years, and she helped me raise my two daughters. We eventually divorced because we just grew apart and both wanted different plans for our futures.
