    Hey guys,
I seriously needs some help here. I didn't see any topics on this in here and I'm hoping someone out there can help. My driver side outer window trim has begun to fade and get oxidation on it from the elements and I'd like to replace it. I actually ordered the part from Toyota for only like 30 bucks. My problem is according to the FSM, you have to not only remove the driver side mirror, but also the inside door panel. After looking at this carefuly, I do not see a need to remove the inside door panel and I'm hoping someone out there has done this DIY job before. If so, I would really appreciate some guidance here. I'd hate to remove all this and then end up not needing to.

Thanks in advance for any advice or help.

I don't know about the mirror, but the door panel is really easy to take off. All you do is take out the screws in the door handle and the lock release handle, then the little fastener underneath that triangular sail piece. (push the middle part of the fastener in with a screwdriver then just pull the whole thing out) Then pry off the sail piece with your hands, then the whole door panel with a flathead screwdriver (it's just a bunch of fasteners). I start at the bottom with a flathead, find where the fasteners are, and pry out on the panel right next to all the fasteners. Once everything is loose just lift up and backwards a little to pull the whole thing off! hope this helps
