You have two choices: Follow a procedure that's documented in here somewhere or in the manual and perform a multi-step procedure (38 total) that involves your remote, turning the key off and on 50 times, stepping on the brake pedal with the passenger door open, idle in N for 30 minutes and setting the radio to the PBS channel. (AM only) with the dome lamp on and lock/unlock the truck 40 times within 40 seconds sitting in the passenger seat with the seat belt on. Or seal it off with a glob of the that expanding yellow foam that if you get it on your hands it never comes off. I can't stand the beeps. Like someone else said, my boss listens for it when I take off early and threatens to dock my pay $2 the next morning when I come in. (he never does)

Unplug the little beep gizmo under the hood.

That’s not true. There is a fairly easy “secrete hand shake” you need to do. I’ll have to search for the thread but it wasn’t difficult to execute once you know what to do.

It's been about a decade since this post so I figured I might as well chime in again - I never touched the earplug that I stuck in the speaker and to this day the beeps are still muffled just right.

    See ya guys in 2032.

    Beeps off!

Last week, I was at SpralMart - went to unlock my truck and the moment before I hit the button, some other Toyota owner unlocked theirs with the same beeps - the beeps already annoyed me and that was the final annoyance - luckily this thread was front and center - it took me a few tries, a few separate times, probably b/c I wasn't waiting long enough - but it's done now and I am much happier!

Thanks TacoWorld and all yallz here that posted the process/tips/tricks for doing this.
