I have a 2003 hilux 4x4 manufactured in Argentina, and sold in Colombia. I am trying to figure out what gear ratios are in the differentials. There is no sticker on any of the door jams, and the plate on the firewall doesn't contain anything I that makes sense. I'll take a photos of the plates and stickers on my truck and post them tomorrow. maybe someone out there can decypher them.

Here is a picture of the vehicle ID plate on my firewall. The area for the trans/axle is blank which is no help at all. There are no other plates/stickers anywhere on the truck. Is there an ID on the differential(s) that gives the axle ratio ?? Also, if I want to upgrade to a locker, how do I tell which diff type is in my truck. Thanx.

Jack truck up and put on original size tires
Mark the tire and make 10 revolutions while also counting how many times the driveshaft rotates. Get the driveshaft number of turns. And round up or down accordingly
    39 driveshaft spins
    10 tire rotations. 39/10=3.9
    45 driveshaft spins
10 tire rotations 45/10 closest would be 4.56

    You get the drift

Thanks for the reply. I got the idea, but I don't see where it would make any difference what size tire I have on it. One revolution is one revolution whatever the size tire is on the truck. I figured this was the only way to find out what I have, but wanted to try and take the easy way out if I could.
