    also, go with the api clamps that terminal4 suggested but be sure to order the ones that are for the tacoma.

    Smart thing using the clamp to keep the struts up. I used a long 2x4 and balanced it on my bumper at the open the door. Sucked if you accidentally knocked it and it would slam on your head. That's when I bought some new struts haha
    I think 4 would be good because I don't wheel, go off road time to time to get to the mountains or rivers to camp. Thanks for all your help! Will look for some of those clamps, I'll check a few places here. :cheers:

    Ya they are probably snug top. Those pretty nifty little hooks though

    Thats a great idea with the aluminum bars! Distributes the pressure more. Lucky you have bed rails too and don't have to reach all the way around the lip to the bed

    I'm gonna try clamping first because that is the cheapest route to go as of right now and being a college kid don't have major funds (still need to buy weather stripping for the bottom and buy fabric to rig up some curtains). Will buy some this weekend and will see how it works!
