I always back up into a spot or pull through into a spot. its easier and i usually park away from people anyway.

Also, in a self defense situation(someone has you blocked in and is threatening you), it is easier to shove out with your truck...than it is to back over what ever is blocking it...just a thought.

Working for a utility, most trucks in the parking lot are backed into a spot, particularly any of the larger (F250+) company vehicles. All the craft guys are trained that way, and, frankly, so does the Army.

What I do depends on how hot it is that day. I prefer to have the driver's side facing North on those 100°F+ days so that side of the vehicle is shaded all day.

Another factor is whether I need to load or unload something. If I need to unload my bike, I don't want to back up against landscaping. Conversely, if I have something in the back I would prefer to not be messed with, I will back up snug against a fence or wall.

The DCSB is nice and maneuverable though, so it hasn't been a big deal.

Like apparently everyone else, I prefer to park a long ways away from everyone else. Where I work, there is often the amusing situation where all the little passenger cars are parked up by the door, and all the heavy trucks are backed into spots around the edge, so there is space in between. Recently one of my co-workers got a little Lexus, so we've been parking next to each other to at least keep one side of our vehicles safe. (Sadly, another co-worker was recently rear-ended by a Tacoma, totalling her little Lexus. Awkward.)

I will admit that I enjoy my back-up light setup, so sometimes I park somewhere in the evening when I know I'm leaving in the dark, and I choose to back up after dark to get maximum satisfaction out of backing up.

It depends on if i'm in a rush or not.. But usually I'll try to back in.. I'd say pulling right in is faster though..

I usually pull right in instead of backing in. I don't have a problem backing out of a spot. If I have the chance to pull through to a spot where I can just go forward, I will.

I used to resist parking straight in before but find that backing in is much easier coming and going. It is much safer to reverse into an empty stall than reverse into on coming cars zipping through the parking lot. The only time it is more convenient to park straight in is at Costco. It's easier to load stuff into your bed and the stalls are huge.

I might be in the minority but I refuse to park inconveniently far away from store entrance to avoid dings. I love my truck but I don't like having the truck telling me where I can park. I find it humorous to see a fancy sports car parked a mile away in the last stall to avoid getting hit.

Top floor of the garage, where no one else can park around me. At school, I park in the very last row of the lot. I also back in. I don't trust people to park around my truck (unless its another tacoma).

    The fun has just begun.
Back in next to a curb/trees in the back forty away from the Re-Re's. I even back in at home. Early mornings/dark I can see what I'm running into.

Now I feel like I need to make a statement when parking at the mall...

There was a white TRD Sport nose-in a few spaces away. Probably should have left a note for the owner to improve their parking technique.

I pull in and through to the other side. Then use my backup camera to line it up perfectly.

I learned a long time ago that if you need a jump start on one of those cold mornings it is a lot easier to accomplish with the vehicle backed in. Also easier to hook up a tow.

I have always pulled in unless there are enough spots open to pull straight through as well. It has always seemed easier to do this, but that was when I always had a small car. Now I have the DC and sometimes easier to back in when there is nobody else behind me.

I prefer to back in when it's 90degree parking and pull in when it's 45degree parking.

Back in. More likely to be in a hurry to leave somewhere than a hurry to arrive.

I back in. Like a thousand others have said, it's easier to pull out of the parking space. I have to admit the backup camera certainly helps.

So, in this particular spot in this particular parking lot, I find that backing in is handy. I was the first vehicle to back in.

When I returned to my vehicle, I found mine flanked by another Tacoma and a Mercedes also backed in.

    This could get entertaining.
