Maybe that's why I rarely see it here where I live...all cars have rear and front plates.

In the case of the angled parking, I believe it's to conserve space in parking lot and allow for more spaces. The aisles don't have to be as wide because cars/trucks don't have to clear a full 90 degree angle to back out of the spot.

To answer the OP, I generally just pull in and then back out...could be laziness...more or less is just what I'm used to though. I do also tend to park in the rear of lots away from other cars regardless. Easier to get in and out, less chance of some @$$hole opening their door into yours, and hey, a little extra walking never hurt anyone either.

Most of the time I will back in. I will always find that place where I have to out the bed of the truck over a grassy area or over a curb(I also park away from people). I don't like it when the ass end of my truck sticks out of the stall. Parking spots are getting so small, all that you're going to be able to put in them is a civic(especially in the newer just built areas). When it come to angel parking I will pull in. Most of the parking lots that have angled parking don't have the space for me to turn around, especially when the spots are on a street.

X2 - Plus most people are assclowns and dont know how to park. Im pretty anal about keeping my truck ding free, so I park in the back where I can pull foward to the front space - that way I never have to reverse!

Unless I'm going to be loading something bulky I always back in or preferably do a pull thru when available. It's safer and easier to get out. When you pull up to/past a spot you can recon it for junk and kids and you know what vehicles and people are around you then you back in. If you are backing out of a spot by the time you get in the vehicle, start it, seatbelt, radio etc, you don't know for sure what's going on behind and around you.

On the one road in the town near here they redid the parking on the side of a wide road from parallel to reverse-in angle parking. Just like regular angle parking only the opposite direction so you pull past the spot then turn 45 degrees and back in. It's awesome. The stagger gives you great visibility when you pull out and the angle makes it really easy to back in.

I hate places that don't let you back in, most of them I've seen are because of air intakes though and they don't want the exhaust sucking into the building which is fair enough I guess.

Back in. Done it for work for years in the oil industry and it's far faster and more precise than pulling in. Why do you think fork lifts have the rear wheels turn? So they can pivot on a dime. Same deal when backing in.

depends on the way lot is laid out. wal mart is angled parking. but i back in some times or pull all the way and go to the farther spot. if it is not angled parking i try and back in. i have never seen or been to a place that said “ pull in only” or anything like that. also we don’t have front plates. :D

Back in, so I can see people coming, plus a lot easier to see if i'm in the middle of the spot. It also seems to start a chain reaction of people backing in.

I try to take up as many spots as possible. Whatever it takes to do so. Extra points for handicapped stalls.
