Of course it is. That's why you pay more for it. Or just get an aftermarket system.

Or just use the space behind the back seat to store quiet aftermarket things.

Honestly, I am gonna miss the subwoofer like in my FJ when the Tacoma arrives because I opted out of the JBL in favor of more storage.

I you like the music experience, I say go for it.

Ahh it's true! There's always someone that antagonizes people too instead of letting a things go. :D

I also drove a Tacoma sport without the JBL audio package I was 100% unhappy with it but then I was able to hear one with the JBL audio package and it helped me make my decision of buying it. Sounds phenomenal!!

I think the JBL system is plenty adequate. It's got enough bump for me, and the clarity is very good. So glad I got it.

Thanks for all the positive input on the JBL system people !!! But im still having trouble understanding why someone would suggest installing an aftermarket audio unit in a brand new truck when you can spend a few dollars more and get the real thing???

For me I didn't want to molest my brand-new 2016 truck.... I can't remember how much the package was but I can imagine that installing your own speakers could be cheaper. Idk.

Well for some people, even the upgraded JBL system does not fit the bill for a high end sound system. I use to be one of those guys. I wouldn't spend the extra money for a factory upgraded system when I was going to rip it all out and replace with much better components, sub woofers, amplifiers ect. My days of rocking out so loud it rattled my bones are gone (so is some of my hearing). The JBL system is just fine for me now.

Offensive stickers and stuff the wife doesn't know about.
I love my JBL, I happened to listen to that song by "The Weekend" the really popular one (my wife likes it and it gets her in crazy nam'sayin haha) and when I put it on in the truck like the first day I had it....DAMNNNN! It was "bumpin" you could hear it prob a mile away at like half volume haha. Plus I'm all about my heated seats. Can you put an "amazing" aftermarket sound system in, yes of course, but if your not a huge audiophile but want a good system I would totally go for it.
