Went 160 miles to Kansas City where there is actually some competition. All the car dealers in Wichita are owned by the same family including the one Toyota dealer. Sleazy sleazy people. Guaranteed credit approval and ring the bell when you buy a car kind of sleazy.

    Good point about price...

The Wichita dealer quoted $34,418 (wouldnt come off MSRP) and $15,250 for my trade.

Kansas City dealer quoted $32,668 (MSRP - $1500 rebate - $250 because it was on the lot). Trade was $15,500.

    Paid $20,500 after taxes.

Paid $550 for shipping from another dealer on a covered truck since they already had been allocated the truck. Too far to drive and too much time +gas.. But got a great truck with all I wanted in the color I wanted. Supposed to arrive 4/7 to 4/12. Unicorn - BBP TRD OR DC LB JBL sunroof!

I have gotten some pretty good deals by dealing with my local Toyota dealer. Unfortunately, my local sales guy moved on. So this last time I drove just a bit over 100 miles to get exactly what I wanted and got a better deal than shopping local.

Would you drive 1hour to save $200? Would you fly and drive 6 to save $2,000? These are questions to ask yourself. If the answer is no, then you’re not driven to do these types of deals.
I looked at vehicles along a three state corridor, but ended up with one in my back yard. I had overlooked the dealer due to sales tactics, but my neighbor referred me to a no BS salesman there. The deal was done in under an hour.

Drove 3 hours, for the only 6spd TRDOR in the southeast. Couldn’t dealer transfer due to different region. Well worth the time and effort tho. Bought it 3-31-1770FD1ACF-B2B3-4D55-B054-E06FD265BD1F.jpg

I guess the answer really depends on how much it will cost to travel.

I had 6 dealerships within 30 minutes of each other. Did builds for each dealer online and ended up buying the one closest to me. Ended up getting what I wanted and a bit more.
