I drove 220 miles but saved $1,500. The dealership also has a non cost lifetime engine warranty. The cost savings was for everything I wanted plus a chrome exhaust.

The local dealership did a follow up call as I was driving to the other dealership. That has to be my favorite sales call I ever got.

I drove 5 miles away. I did some internet shopping in advance with about a 100 mile radius search and took the the best deal I could get in there and asked them to match after completing the test drive.

I went from Houston, Tx to Shreveport, La. I was also looking for a MT Pro so my options were limited. If you can stay local do it. If you do travel though, it's a good time to get a feel for the new ride!

Thanks brentw59, however my scenario was pretty extreme and I imagine no longer an issue. This is the journey I had to go on to get my 2016 AC TRD Sport:

As described in great* detail (* consider yourself warned), it took me 261 days and 8 dealerships to get my 3rd gen.

The reasons for my struggle were mostly due to 1) at the time the 3rd gen was a brand new model and I put in my first order before they had hit show room floors, and 2) I ordered a manual transmission (because it's a truck) yet according to multiple dealers it took Toyota from August 2015 through January 2016 until the first allocation of manual transmission models even rolled off the assembly line.

The wait was surely worth it as I've been enjoying the hell out of it. Currently has Dual Transfer Cases and 40s

    Likewise here in CenCal.

    Regards,
    BigMike

Los Angeles, CA to Tempe, AZ in a rental car (one way drop-off) and back to LA in my Taco all in the same day.

The dealer in Tempe very easy to work with over the phone and there was no BS when I got there. My friend, who was a finance manager at a dealership for a long time, was actually disappointed that the finance manager didn't try to press me into buying any extras haha.

I not only found the truck I wanted with all the features I was looking for but I also saved some money off MSRP. It was well worth it for me!

I live near Akron Ohio and was ready to drive down to Norcross Georgia to get the one I wanted. At the last minute the same truck turned up in Columbus Ohio and I got it there instead. I was looking for 2 months and finally found mine 130 miles away.

Drove 15 minutes one way to pick it up.

Of course, I drove 15 minutes x 2 dozen times x the trips home before I found the one I wanted. Oh yeah, have to include the trip with my wife to make sure it was OK.

Honestly, after adding the ShiftSense Pro, it's the best vehicle I ever bought. Very happy. Feel bad for so many on site who have problems.

One thing I noticed is compared to my last car (2016 Boxster S) the tech don't know too much and usually say, "Well, that's the way it is." or "Can't be done." Or the one I love best, "I don't know." And then make no effort to find out. Drives me nuts.

I had a sort of unique trade as my 2012 f350 has 246000 miles. I ended up not wasting my time driving to a dealer 5 hours away that could have got me more off mrsp. I drove across the street to the dealer, paid a msrp 39k for my 18 off-road but got almost 15 for my trade. yes I paid full price, but I didn't have to haggle a bit, and I was happy with the trade in price I got because I beat the living shit out of that truck and it shifted like the read end and tranny were about to fall out. they never even drove it though. dumbasses

After going to 3 different dealerships in the Houston area I ended up flying to Arlington Texas for mine.

33 miles to save $2,900 ...... I to received a call from the dealer 5 miles from my house that would not match the offer I had until I drove off in 2014 TRDOR on my way to trade her in for a better deal that was an awesome call when I told the salesman you didn't believe did you!
