I haven't even picked up my taco... but...

I've lived a lot of places across the USA.. and driven a hell of a lot for work and personal and i sure wouldn't be planning a cross country trip till late spring or summer. Just cause your vehicle can take it, doesn't mean you can get down a closed highway.... but hey if ya like white knuckles and possibly sleeping in your truck.. go for it. ya hit the right states you will understand how many different types of snow their are.

    EDIT*
Don't get set on a specific route, and keep an eye on storms; the early season storms can be some of the worst.

I have not taken any long trips in the Taco because the 2010 Camry gets 30mpg. I did take a 6700 mlie trip in my 2002 Nissian Frontier Super Charged truck that got 15mpg average for the trip. Yes I got rid of it and bought a Tacoma which rides better and gets better mpg.

I've driven from Cincinnati, Oh to Savannah, Ga it took about 12 hrs. It was great! I had a mattress in the back, so I just pulled over and slept whenever. I had all the essentials with me to keep the trip from being a PITA.

Longest trip I've taken mine on was Miami FL to Charlottesville VA and back this summer. About 2200 miles total, as we did some sightseeing along the way. The truck did great, and was very comfortable for all of us (me, wife, two kids up front, and a big dog in a kennel strapped down in the bed). Also in the bed were several duffels full of clothes and gear and a medium sized cooler.

The longest trip I have done in the truck is back and forth to the OBX of NC from GA twice this summer...its about 650 miles one way.

In other vehicles, the furthest I have gone is.
I have driven from Atlanta, GA to Denver, CO (1,400 miles). Driven from Chicago, IL to Atlanta, GA (730 miles).

The farthest so far that I have driven is from Muskogee, Oklahoma to Branson, Missouri which is a little over 200 miles. I loved the drive in my Taco as I know it is very dependable, and it looks great to.

I cant wait to take my Taco when I go back to Reno, Nevada which is over 1700 miles long but is a great drive.
