I am getting sick of this crap.

Power steering flush. Took 4 hours instead of 30 mins.

Got done, everything looks ok. Started up the engine. Doesn't sound good. Popped the hood.

A t-shirt that I had used to cover the belts had fallen down so I missed it and is now stuck under the belts.

Can I loosen these easily or is it a remove the radiator job at which point I might just light the damn truck on fire?

You don't need to remove the radiator to remove the belts. Just loosen them and remove.

Thanks for the quick replies. Is there a torque value I need to get it back to?

Alright I give. Can someone walk me through how to do this? I can't find anything online and I am turning a long bolt that seems to be doing nothing on the bottom most pulley

There is a nut on the other end you have to lefty loosey first with a box end while holding the bolt head.
    It can be done.
Splash pan gotta be off though if you have one.

Just put the shirt on. Once you get it on, you'll have it out of the belts.

I would just turn the crankshaft pulley counterclockwise. Don't bother loosening all the belts.

Dude, this is not even registered on the piss off scale. 19mm socket and slowly crank it counter clockwise and you’ll be done in no time.

come back and cry when you find hole in your frame that had been bondo’d over. Or your rear shock decided not to like where it mounted any more

Bed hooks were ironically Rustoleum bed lined yesterday.

I cried when my 1998 4runner that I loved and had just personally installed a OME lift and got new tires was driven into a tree in the middle of BFE and I mean BFE Idaho by the shuttle company. I then used the money they gave me to buy a 1999 4runner that turned out to have a bent frame that couldn't be fixed. Was out of money so had to take a loan out to get a 2006 4runner. Sold that so the wifey and dog could have a camper van that I had to build out. Finally saved up enough to get a DD back and here we are.

Rear shock on this truck also unthreaded itself from the lower mount on the way home from me purchasing it, so yeah I got to replace two rear shocks.

So yeah over it and crying.

Mostly crying because I am supposed to be writing papers for summer classes.

The belts wouldn't loosen enough to pull the shirt out.
Just cut the new belts and now get to pay $70 for more new belts.
    More tears, more money gone.

Also found that the bolt that is supposed to hold the alternator in place on the slide is missing. Anyone happen to know the size and pitch?

It’s irrelevant but one time one of the lube boys at work forgot to take the oil nosel out of the block and it sucked the whole rope and pump into the block toyota had to either replace the block or give them a new car haha customer prolly was like what the heck how does that happen

this is why I try’n stay out of dealers/shops! Recently picked up a new ride, (dealer sticker oil change).....GD...oil filter and drain bolt was
cranked on to the point of almost no return.
What is it with some of them? Almost called the dealer just to yell
But then we have this here situation above- things happen,
at least you saved some money and are learning! But oh no ! on the shirt, just try cutting it away and yankin on it with some vice grips
