I'm trying to compare how high a tacoma sits versus my silverado. I've read on the interne that the Tacoma has more ground clearance than mine, but was also wondering about the seat getting in. Right now I have 285/75/16s on my Silverado and I have to kinda stand on my toes to get in and kinda spring with my legs to get in(hard to explain) which I like. I sat in an 08 the other day and didn't have to do anything just get in. I know this is a crazy question but was wondering if someone could measure from the ground to the drivers seat when you get in. Like to hear from someone that is stock and someone that has a small lift like a 3". Didn't know if the trucks actually got 3" or not.

    back to bone stock.
first thread about seat height..relative to the ground. no?
i'm gonna go out on a limb and say..seat height and the amount of effort to climb in is independent of ground clearance.

The Tacoma has 9.5" clearance and the Silverado has 9.0"

    Agree, the two aren't related.

The Tacoma's seat sits lower in the cab than any fullsize. Silverado, F150, Ram. It's more car-like than truck-like in that respect.

Yeah I thought it was lower I just like having to put more effort in getting in a truck than just stepping in. If that makes sense. I guess what I'm trying to figure out is how much difference a Tacoma sits versus mine. I'm going to try to measure mine from ground to the top of the seat where you sit. This may be a retarded thread but am just curious.

Would also be impacted by how far inset from the entry way the Tacoma seat is in relation to the Silverado.

There are a lot of human factors measurement points that you could go make.

Easiest thing to do is drive up next to one at a Toyota dealer and hop in and out of them back to back no?

I came home from work tonight and I measured. From the ground to the floorboard is about 22". From the ground to the top of the seat cushion(that part where you put your butt) is about 37"

Anyone else want to measure their truck for me? From the ground to the floorboard and from the ground to the top of the seat cushion where you sit.
