    One big payment here, too.

I am inspired to see several of you able to pay cash and not take on additional debt. There certainly isn't anything wrong with taking on a loan, but being debt free (except for my mortgage) is certainly a liberating way to live.

Oh, and Dave Ramsey knows what he is talking about! Google him, follow his plan, and you too can be debt free!

Same here. Let the first house we bought almost triple in price in 2004 (people buying houses when they were so far overpriced were just plain dumb), sold it and paid off all our debt, paid cash for my truck, rented for a few years until prices dropped and bought another house (nicer one too)...debt free except for mortgage and second vehicle. Smart move on our part. Actually, I should say "moves" because renting a house in a market where everyone is losing them is not such a great idea. Didn't feel like such a great idea for those almost 5 years of renting where we had to keep moving from house to house because owners couldn't afford to keep them (4 houses!), but in the end it paid off.

    All puns intended.:D

^^^ you are smart my friend, alot of people got rich during that time and the rest got screwed lol, and you dont need a plan to be debt free, live within your means and be a cheapass for a whille build up some savings and invest a little, make your money work for you and not the other way around, never pay interest in your life.(unless its for a mortgage and even then pay tht off as fast as possible)

I have a 48 month loan starting this month, but the world is going to end Dec, 21, 2012, so I am making out, and the loan date for the month is not until the 25th of the month, so I can also skip the Dec. 2012 payment
