Mine just got moved up to 2/2... I'm still hoping it shows up Monday, I test-drive it, I sign the paperwork, then leave it for them to add the lift, then drive it off within two days! Fingers crossed!

On a related note, I had the worst day back on Dec 6 when I wrecked my truck. I knew in my heart it was totaled but refused to accept it until a few days before 12/22 when they officially told me it was totaled. During this mourning period, I had no clue my future vehicle was about to be birthed on 12/15/21. And almost two months later, it's about to be mine.

Hey guys i put a deposit down on a 22 TRD off Road i found on a dealers website on 1/20. At the time, they told me the truck is expected to deliver 2/12 ≈. Yesterday the sales rep updated me saying the truck is “still in freight status”. What does this mean? Im in PA, does the date seem reasonable ???

On rail or awaiting rail pickup. Once status is “Ground”, awaiting a truck or on a truck to dealer. About 250 miles or less to the dealer at that point

sun Toyota is charging $5000 over MSRP but they gave me $37,800 for my SR5 that I only paid $30,200 for one year ago. So that kinda made up for the 5k hike

So what is the dealer gaining by telling me they can’t add tech package or led lights? If they are not telling the truth what is to gain? Or loose?? It really doesn’t matter to me because I didn’t really want or need the tech package but you couldn’t get led light kit without it. I can add led or upgrade the projector lights after the fact. But again the original question is what would they gain or not by telling me they can’t add packages??

Nothing, they just can’t add those. From my understanding which has been consistent across all my conversations, it doesn’t seem they can add factory stuff on. Like add LED headlights for example.

The way I see it, there are so many dealers who I called and had an allocation coming for an off-road that didn’t have a technology package for example. If they could’ve added it they would’ve had my business on the spot, but they couldn’t so they lost my business. If they had any sort of control or capability to add things on they would do it. That’s the logic of how I see it.

They can however add and remove port options.

I have no doubt at some point in history if you catch things early enough you can add things on or change the paint color. But we are in a completely different era now. Those old ways don’t seem to apply right now. You get what you get as a dealership

Someone at my dealership has a MGM MT Pro that’s in transit to dealer. So delivery soon. Saw on the website. Allocated late December I think. GST Region

When I bought my sport in 2007 it was this way then. Maybe not as tight. But I took a sport in 2007 over waiting. That was 15 years ago.

This is clearly their model... why not. We are all downloading second hand spreadsheets to find our trucks 4 them

Yeah I am not saying I like how it is...I just think the days of even being able to get them to switch paint or add options if they catch it early enough...are sadly over. I wish we could all order like you can at Ford or anywhere else. But hey, I am getting a truck in a little over 2 months from starting to look, and if I went and built a Bronco for example, I could be waiting 4+ months...so I guess I can't complain too much.

The Toyota system rewards those who want to sink a ton of time into looking and mastering the process, and with a little luck...it shouldn't have to be that way

Especially with the way things are in the global supply chain etc. I just really wanted one of the last model years of a proven truck. Now doesn't seem like the best time to take a risk on a new platform.

Like I said. TUNDRA, give his coat back..

I'm going to go see how the tundra thread likes this post.

I should admit.. I have three deposits on this truck. 2 deposits in the same region, one in an outside.. if I actually get a Solar octane tundra, I will probably end up keeping em both.. so michel Jackson joke aside.. the PRO is sick... its hybrid assist makes it on par.

Last update::: the tundra crew are NOT impressed with this.

I don't know, it wasn't a lot of work for my salesperson to go in and select the options and submit them for my allocated truck,

but there is $ to be gained if they tell you they have to leave on a bunch of options, running boards, bed mats etc that are profit for both toyota and the dealers if you think about it,

They were able to do whatever I wanted except change the color, body - bed config and couldn't move a tech package down to a standard or standard up to premium.

You can get black interior on the new Pro Tundra as an option if you're not a Thriller fan.
