I plan on passing mine on to my 12 year old son when he starts driving. We have a blast driving it offroad now. We researched every truck on the market together for about 10 months before deciding on this one. I even let him decide on the color. I told him at first that we were not getting 4wd because we didn't really need it. He looked at me and said, "But it would be kinda cool to have it". I smiled and said, "You know what, you're right!". I have never been more pleased with the purchase of a vehicle ever. Every weekend is now an adventure for us both.

I bought mine as in 2005, when the 2006's were on the lot - so I got a pretty good deal. I've had it nearly 7 years and am just under 60K miles. I'm just starting to have some fun and appreciate the abilities of the truck. I've kept my previous Toyota's for 10 years....but I really like this truck! We'll see how I feel in 3 years...

Not sure what's up with that part of the truck... I've had to change the u-joints on the drive shaft at 150k

Not that I know of man. I've got 225k and everything is rock solid so far.

Just bought new suspension, (shipping :D). Already had driveshaft u-joints done at 150k. Same clutch. Reg Maintenance. Turned my rotors until my buddy said stop being so damn cheap. Brake pads. Filters... thats it. Nothing else.

...that thing runs and idles like a champ. Hopefully Toyota will do something special for me one I hit a million. like a new 2025 Tacoma

My last '85 toyota truck had about 475k before I donated it, it was STILL pulling on miatas and civics (older models of course) until the day it was donated. :yay:

Hahaha, same exact story here. Bought mine in late '05 and only have 58K on the speedo, love my truck and plan on keeping it for a long time. If something were to happen to it I would get another, 7 years of ownership with 0 problems.

I bought mine used at 40K miles. I've had it two years already. I'm hoping to be able to buy something else around the time it hits 100K. Providing it's still in good shape, I hope to keep it as a weekend toy.

until repairs get to the point where there not worth doing, the 99 I just bought has about 181k on the speedo. My sister put around 115k on her 05 in about 3-4 years before she traded it in for a corolla

prolly sell mine in a couple years once i graduate and get an older 2nd gen v6 4x4, long travel it and drive it to the ground. A little off topic. anyone know if long travel setup with some decent desert runs every month or so would greatly decrease the life of a taco?

I'm nearing 2 years of ownership...close to a record for me.

While I have no current plans to trade, one never really does know which way the wind will blow.

I am living in mexico right now and I figure one year normal driving here is worth 2 in the USA so it's getting thoroughly used. Most Roads where i live are in very bad shape.

Still, I'll drive it till it dies or i get moved somewhere i cant take the truck. Once I get to 150k I'll look for another primary driver but won't get rid of this truck.

Well, seems like most guys are satisfied to keep the trucks a lifetime unless problems arise, so we are all of the same mindset. It's a decent truck and not hard on the eyes which should last quite a while.

I still have my 1988 Toyota Xcab V6 4x4 on the go and it's still running great, so I expect this new Tacoma to last a Long, Long, Long time...
