looking at a 2000 4x4 with the six cylinder auto. It has 173k on it. She wants top dollar, I am wondering how many miles these engines go. Can I expect another 100k with little difficulty? Original owner, dealer maintained. Mainly highway miles, never off road.

yea you should have no problem. Just take it to your mechanic though to check it over.

That motor should last 300k easily. I have approximately 166k miles on my rig and it's still running strong.

Look for another truck....you don't want to spend the remaining 100k in repair costs.

That truck has AT LEAST 5 miles left but no more tan 1.237 million according to my calculations.

If you use Mobile 1 it has 23 million miles left, unless you used a frame oil filter in which case there are a -237 miles on it.

I've got 221k on my 01 3.4 auto and its been through hell its whole life. Good luck man. Im afraid this truck has spoiled me into thinking all trucks are like this.

Yeah, I have a serious 12 mi. daily round trip. Maybe the single advantage of living on Post.

Go for it. Get it checked out by a mechanic. Make sure all of the features you're expecting actually work. For example, my truck had the TRD stickers and no rear locking diff.

These trucks can go forever if they're maintained and cared for properly. Good luck!

Rust is a bigger risk than engine wear. Get down underneath and check it out.

Toyota's last a lifetime man, you can easily expect another 100k.

Like many of the members on the site, I'm at 255k on my 2.7. I'm using absolutely no oil, the truck is very solid and has never let me down on the road.

I make frequent trips from North Carolina to Virginia, eleven hours round trip and every time it is an easy drive. These are great trucks if they are maintained and cared for in their early life.

Have a trusted mechanic check it out, be sure to look at the frame and your front components like ball joints and wheel bearings, they are a weak point.

    Good luck!

I have 186k on my 99 Access Cab 2.7 auto. 54k was run in the last year, now that she became a work truck. Go for it. Baby that truck, and she won't let you down.
