I'm changing out my stock 245/75/16 stock Dunlop AT20 tires after 5 years and 45K plus miles. I was wondering how many miles other people have gotten out of their stock tires. I could have gotten a few more thousand miles out of them, but I wanted to change them out before the rainy season comes.

got about 25k and then got rid of them. i know opinions vary but mine is that they were the worst tire i have personally ever owned. at least from my experience in alabama. that and i used that excuse to justify to myself getting a set of duratracs before those tires were bald.

Good job. I could have gotten a few thousand more out of my tires, but I wanted to change them before winter. A lot of the roads in CA. are pretty bad which helps to explain why I'm getting fewer miles out of my tires. I've driven in about 20 states and CA. has the worst roads by a wide margin.

pulled my stock rugged fails @ 21k because I couldn't risk another winter with those pos tires. those tires would just pack with snow and won't release it. Almost got me into 4 winter accidents. I don't wish those on my worst enemy.

I don't know how much snow you get where you live but in Cleveland we get dumped on esp. last winter. Luckily I switched to Bridgestone Revo 2's and I will never look back. I think I switched into 4wd about 5 times the entire last winter where with the rugged fails it was weekly. And last winter we had record snowfall. I say ditch them and then shoot them and then burn them and then . . . sorry I'm getting carried away . . . I hate them so much!

The Dunlops are a 50,000 mile rated tire...
I have 30,000 on mine, and they look like I could get 50,000 miles but I am ready for more then a road tire so they will be gone soon...
