I just got a 99 tacoma extended cab 4X4 and im almost done with my first tank of gas. The low level light hasnt turned on yet but its about to turn on any minute. I show 234 miles so far.

How far can you go in your tacoma with one tank of gas?

    its a v6 with a 5 speed manual and I have small 235/75/15 tires.

    Thanks

If I stay local it's around 230-240 that's on base driving with a lot of lights, max MPH 40 and school traffic. When I travel back home (Highway) I can get near 300.

I got a 04 dbl cab v6 4x4. I got my ultragauge set at 18.5 gallon (tank size) and it shows I get 18.8. So I'm getting 300+ out of a tank. thats with extra weight, I got 245's. with mixed driving

Edit: w/lift weight- bumpers skids sliders,

x2 on the 280-300. With the ladder rack its definitely closer to 280 though, if not a little below sometimes.

well it looks like im at the bottom of the range but i think i might be able to improve it
i still need to change out plugs and cables they look original!
the oil is also 10W-30 instead of the 5W
changing the above should help right?

the other thing im thinking about is tire size
the tire calculator says im traveling slower than what the speedo says due to having small tires
would this also affect the odometer? and which direction?
thinking of going up to the 31x10.5x15 tires

    thanks for ur replies

i think that would do the opposite for mileage. if your tires are smaller then your trip meter is going to say you traveled further than you actual did. It shouldnt be much of a difference though. You might try using a gps to verify the mileage next time you go on a long trip. Start with the tank full, reset your trip, drive a full tank, the refuel and divide miles by gallons it took.

Dont forget to go easy on the pedal! ive gotten as low as you but only when i hot-rod around town. :)

Do any of you have mods are the numbers with stock intake/filter exhaust?
It might explain the diff numbers, me for example....magnaflow muffler open intake, but I get up to 20mpg if just highway driving

I think I can get about 250 on average and more than that on a good day. I have a V6 3.4 L 4x4 Ext Cab. I also have a 3 inch lift and 33's with tube bumper in the front. I actually feel like my mileage improved slightly when I put the front bumper on.
